Only saw half of tonight's episode, but that was plenty. The good thing about it was that it reminded me that I was watching a live-action cartoon, albeit a pretty lousy one, but a cartoon nonetheless. Other than that it was...

Alicia is the Chloe of Fear The Walking Dead. Sometimes I wonder if there is a computer which casts these shows so that all of the canned protagonist characters are EXACTLY the same in appearance and personality. It's like they select the same types over and over, but they have to find younger versions because the others age and no longer fit the formula.
QUICK...which is which?

its too bad her talent is being wasted in ftwd
she obviously jumped from THE 100 for the money
in 100 she is an entirely diff character--if you've seen it you know what i mean--in ftwd she is just a silly, mousy girl
So, what is the secret to managing to watch an entire episode of this?
So, what is the secret to managing to watch an entire episode of this?
It's funny that you should ask this question because tonight I realized the only way to get through an entire episode of this show is to be distracted doing something else while it's on. I spent the hour doing the dry, boring clerical duty of filling out insurance claim forms for the car accident I was in last year. I only had to raise my head from the table I was working at a few times to follow what was going on.
So I guess that's the trick to enjoying this show; doing something else while it's playing in the background.
other then them getting to mexico-the rest of the ep is a blur...seriously
The episode was a jumble of stupidity. It was chock full of characters that are extremely uninteresting and/or moronic. Like the lady who poisoned all the people in the church. Her motivations made no sense. Same with the rationale to keep the zombies in a jail cell in the back pantry because death shouldn't be feared. Um...yeah...sure, let's pointlessly increase the death toll in the surrounding area and also keep our zombie family members inside the compound because that's a win/win scenario for everyone.
This episode was a departure from their usual formula. They instead had a FTWD version of the Herschel ranch, only darker and against the backdrop of a convent. Strangely, I found it more watchable than some of the other episodes. I am only now realizing the heavily Latino aspect of this show from the casting, locales and themes of the core story from the beginning. I have no problem with it at all, just noticing.
I am glad Strand did not take the poison, and it's time to munch out Chris and get him off the show:

I could understand the internal justification Luisa(?) had made to keep her zombie family in that compound, even though it is very weird and depraved. I think the Old Man is my favorite character in the show, if I had to pick one. Chris has gotten all unstable and psychotic, and it's time to take him off the show. Now. He was always annoying and poker faced, but he was not a major threat then. Now, he could just snap and kill everyone. Munch time.
It looks like we are going to get another episode in this place. Perhaps two? Better than the boat, that's for sure.
I find the 'OMG-Chris-is-crazy!' story line really dumb. It's so heavy handed. It's also boring. So far the only character I "like" (for want of a better term) is the one Reuben Blades plays (and he's even a bonehead at time). Everyone else is horrible and needs to be eaten by zombies.
