Tigh really was unprepared to run the fleet and it showed.

Sounds like you're getting to the end of the good period. After "Resurrection Ship" the quality tails off.

Yes, it does drop off, but I hope to try to pay more attention to it and see if there is anything that I missed during some of those eps.

did you all see how BBC-A showed everything-from mini series to end of seas 1(?)-- starting last night at 11 or midnight and running through like 5 minutes ago I think--premiere of new season of Dr Who.... gotta go watch a bit of the Dr:)

I watched the latest two eps and I had totally forgotten that the cylon Diana was a reporter. I liked the scenes with Chief and Sharon and Hilo. I thought they were very touching.

She was probably the best "snuck in one" (snuck in on the audience that is) of all the cylons. The others were all kind of the you can see it coming type of thing. The other one closest to her "intro" was Cavil. But his appearances in 2 places at once kind of give it away though.

When the footage is being watched you can't know if it is being watched on a ship in the fleet or where..then we see the rest of the 'gang':icon_eek:

oh yeah--if there had been a second season of CAPRICA-she was contracted to play the same role. It would have been the 'original' human Diana of course as it was 50 yrs in the past. Perhaps they will use her in Blood and Chrome.

OH, that would be great. I am looking forward to B&C.

TBH, Ellen took me by surprise too. I did not see that one coming either.

Yeah, but the FF were just kind of thrown in type of thing. To me Tory was the biggest surprise out of the 5. But out of the 'colonial cylons', I think Diana was the biggest surprise.

Yes, and Lucy Lawless did a great job of portraying her too, I had always thought she was just after power and fame not a cylon.

Sounds like you're in the part of the show where the quality started to take a dive.

i think that --while I do not disagree with your 'quality' statement, per se. Are you defining the 'quality' by the amount of SFX and 'straight' sci fi that began to show up less and less? Just a question, not knocking on your opinion in any way.--by this time, many viewers were getting into that certain way BSG used sci fi and sfx to get its storylines across and then-poof! In came the drama and soap opery stuff. I can see how that kind of game changer can change an opinion. Believe me, there were times during this season (the one being shown on BBC-A now), where I started to think about tuning out. I did a lot of channel surfing during some of what I called 'fluff' ep's during this time. But dang it, didn't TPTB put in a few small but very important items in many of these ep's, if you tuned out because of the fluff you missed something that was needed in a few ep's. (kind of like in SGU where they 'explained away' what happened to the Novan colonists on Destiny in the prologue part of the show? With that little passing conversation between Rush and Eli? I f you had gotten up to get a coke or something you missed out on the explanation )

So I stuck thru it--I can't remember any real alternatives to watch during this timeframe back then anyhow, was ROME on HBO then (was BSG on Sundays or Fridays then? I can't remember:icon_eek: :icon_e_confused:)--tuned in each week and got 'hooked'.

Again not debating your opinions of the show-just saying it took some gettin' used to to 'stomach' some of the ep's that's all:icon_razz:

I have not really reached a point where I am unhappy with BSG right now. The farm ep was just kinda icky to me. The propaganda/conspiracy theory aspect is not over exaggerated yet. They still have a decent amount of action in the show.

I had a bigger problem with the time jump.

Basically the quality of BSG tailed off a little in the second half of season two and fell off the proverbial cliff starting in season three. Drama is one thing if it is well structured, logical and coherent but soapiness is not good. Nor are illogical plot points that don't fit properly into the story told earlier on (like the entire final five plot). Also having the behavior of characters fluctuate radically from episode to episode.

Perhaps, I have always been a bit more flexible with that definition. I did not like the new Caprica arc and I know that is coming up soon.

If you are still pre New Caprica then you haven't hit the cliff yet. There are decent episodes in the second half of S2 (Scar, The Captain's Hand). Not so much in S3 or S4.

Yes, I am still pre New Caprica.

I will plan on trying to not "tune out" my brain like Yongjin suggested, I am sure I did the first time. Now that I have seen the whole series to the end, I think I might pick up some more information that I missed. I think it is prduent with the possibility of B&C bringing any of that back in the future.
