M*A*S*H started out as a good ensemble show (as the movie had no "stars" in it, either), but then it gravitated to "The Amazing Alan Alda Over-Acting Fest" (think Calculon from Futurama) and it got overbearing.

My opinion of things, anyway.
I totally agree, I think he overacted in most everything he did. He was pretty good in West Wing.

I always wanted to see Brian Blessed cast as Hawkeye:

Brian Blessed is awesome, whether it was in The Black Adder (the first series), Robin Hood: I Can't Speak With An English Accent, or Old Deuteronomy in the London cast of "Cats".

I love watching that man chew the scenery. He's got quite the appetite.
