Well if people that kiss the MOD's ares were to go to the MOD's and say look at what this person is doing he would have. But since pretty much all of us with taste they don't like they wouldn't bother. :roll:

Banning Rac80 was a personal thing - revenge if you will - because it won't prevent her from screen capping and mocking GW posters and their comments as a lurker. In fact it is encouraging her and her friends here. So it did nothing but 'punish' her (in their eyes). Sort of like when SD deleted a whole month of comments on the SGA forum...

So when those sgu fans started posting on other sites that sgusucks members (many of whom are also GW members) had been sending death threats to sgu cast & families etc did GW ban their accounts too? Nope...they in fact linked to Hinman's article that started all that BS in their news thread.

We all know this banning of Rache from Gateworld is quite simply a personal vendetta against her by Muffdiver, Head of the Gateworld Gestapo.

But they didn't insult Gateworld itself or Gateworld forum users based on things they said on the Gateworld boards. Also as far as I am aware they haven't been as persistent in mocking this site.
I don't know about whats been going on on a personal level but can understand why Gateworld may be a little peeved with some members on here.

At times yes. But you can vent on here which you can't really do on Gateworld because of their family friendly policy.

They tend to keep kindly worded negativity but they dislike if it goes beyond that. Which is what there looking for. To be frank they don't care if you don't like it, they only care on the reasons as to why and how they can improve upon it.You cannot be seriousthat is just a thread that is trying to see what improvements could be made

It's a business like any other. Gateworld does indeed make money and has benefits which would otherwise not be accessible.
Realistically i see it as a rock and a hard place. Darren just didn't have the pure strength of awesome to allow venting for fear of losing the support of TPTB.
I thought fans were fans because of hte show, not what benefit they could get out of their 'fandom'.
Tanith, if i want to say that SGU's characters were forced on me like a botched colonoscopy, i'd get censored on GW. But if wanted to say that SGU iS the BEST FUCKING SERIES IN THE LAST 20 YEARS WITH NO COMPARISON AND SG1 AND SGA WERE CRAP COMPARED!... would i get censored?
That's the problem. It's nto that criticism isn't allowed, it's the double standard of allowing SQUEEDRONES, but not the people who want to vent their frustration to post. I lost probably a thesis worth of constructive criticism and snark venting when GW deleted like a billion threads, and i'm not the only one. That left me sour with GW because "oh dear, it seems criticism which exposes SGU's flaws even when it's well constructed and showcased with evidence from the shw isn't well received."
So what happened? The way TPTB have ignored the fans and even insulted them has left alot of SG1/A fans bitter with TPTB for being acclaim seeking dickwads. You don't bite the hand that feeds you if you want to keep getting fed. The Mozz and BW have basically shot themselves in teh foot, but that foot was in their mouths at the time.
Look at reports from the Cons. Next to no one cares about SGU in the fandom that's willing to go ot cons. SGU sucks, but it didn't have to.

GW had the right to be peeved if what was said was said on GW they have no business to get their panties in a bunch over what was said here. They can't go around to every web site where people are freely expressing their thoughts and then ban them for it. No where does it say in the GW rules that you can be banned for what gets said outside of GW.

GW reminds me of those creepy school administrators in Pennsylvania last year. The kids in high school were allowed to rent a laptop from the school for the year and unbeknownst to the kids and their parents, there were cameras inside the laptops that the admins. would turn on while the kids were at home and watch them & what they were doing!
the freaks. and they tried to punish kids for things they did at home (one case was a kid smoking in his bedroom) parents have sued the school and went to the local authorities-- needless to say the admins are now being investigated for among other things...kiddie porn! sounds like the GW police doesn't it? :puke:

oh yeah they were watching kids dress and undress, giving them dententions for bitching about their teachers, etc... you could tell from the times the cameras when on and off (bed time and breakfast time) very freaky! sounds a lot like the pervs at GW-- watching everything we do when not on their site.
