I am simply a fan of the show, and am not affiliated with any of the cast, crew, writing staff, producers, studio or special effects companies who produced SGU. I just looked at the situation, and asked myself “why is nobody running a kickstarter campaign to bring SGU back?”.

This is a somewhat personal view, I'll admit, but SG-1 and Atlantis both had a good run, and came to reasonably adequate conclusions. I'll admit I'd like to see what happens next in the atlantis storyline, but I'm not frustrated at where they left it. There was no cliff hanger, no spaceship hurtling through space with people in stasis, potentially drifting forever, with the possibility of hostile forces tracking them down. SGU was cut off with no satisfactory conclusion.
Additionally, SGU represented a slightly different approach to episodic Scifi drama that I believe was ahead of it's time, and is ripe for a revival. it was less cheese ball, and more gritty, without taking itself too seriously. Don't get me wrong, SG-1 and Atlantis were great, but SGU was something different
