Well, we didn't get Vic Mackey but at least we got Chiklis
I thought the series ended pretty well--none of the bad guy does good stuff and forgiven crap
What do you think Bluce?
And, like the SHIELD, ended with the possibilities of follow on (movie or show)-whether Sutter does this intentionally or not, don't know-but he does show that there are those left behind who continue on (in both shows)
Wonder what kind of show he'll do next? You know he will--probably can't stay away. Hopefully it will be as good as SHIELD and SOA
I thought the end was poetic, if not a bit cliche in that Jax followed his dad's footsteps right to his demise. I liked how Jax cleaned up shop at the end, though. No elaborate scheme, no well thought out plan, just good ol' bullet to the head to each and every one of the remaining enemies without regard to himself.
I'm disappointed we didn't get Vic Mackey but I am delighted we did at least get a nod of sorts with Chiklis' cameo. Chiklis was brought in most likely because of the overwhelming cries of The Shield fans who were all but begging to see Mackey in the finale.
Sutter's next project is a period piece called "The Bastard Executioner" and his wife will be starring in it again. After The Shield and SOA, I'm not sure I can sit through a Sutter story based in the dark ages.
