I am huge animal lover. My ex has my dog, and his dog and our two cats. I miss them but they were all his too and they live in same big house with big yard and their people and each other, so I just get "virtual visitation" with them.

Before we left NL we got two adorable farm kittens. They have grown into sweet fun loyal fur babies. They are brother and sister and boy is fixed. Their paws do not touch outside ever, they are pure inside cats. My girl is tiny for a full grown and very pretty mostly white with some black and he is mighty and strong and adorable mostly black with some white. They act more like dogs, most days I have at least one by my side. On the few sunny days here, they will leave me for a windowsill.

She sits in front of TV when you watch it for attention and he piddles in bathtub. Not sure why they crave attention, someone is giving it to them non stop most days. They are just hugely attached to their humans and they love each other as well. So cute to watch them sleep cuddled together on foot of bed each night. They are awesome cats.

Sounds like you have bonded with your new owners :) I am so glad you made them indoor. I remember the problem you had with Little Man when he was gone for a few days and you were worried. I cannot even stand one HOUR not knowing where Siete is. I have to keep track of his hiding spaces, because he occasionally finds new ones created by me moving things, or he finds his way into baskets and boxes or he opens cabinets.

Like you, I am a huge animal lover. I have bird friends, rat friends, of course dog friends and my three little lions, I was worried sick the past 30 hours. I have seen no blood since coming back from the vet. None at all, and she did not really do anything to his mouth except look at it. I gave Siete the antibiotic, but I cannot get him to take the steroid yet. He can see the white tablet in the Greenie pocket. :(

Try grinding it up and putting some wet food, cheese, meat whatever it takes. If vet gave you an antibiotic it is important they take it to prevent infection. The bleeding could happen again when he is cleaning himself, all it takes is one open wound. I have had a few cats I had to force feed pills for, it is pretty easy for a cat. You just pry open mouth, pop in pill down throat, close mouth and hold and rub neck while holding till they swallow. Sounds cruel, but antibiotics can save a life, so I don't take chances.

Yes, we are right on a street, no way in hell are my cats allowed out. I see neighborhood cats out dodging cars and I just feel sorry for them. If you live in a city and you love your cat, why on earth let them out?

The ex lets Little Man and Prescious roam, but it is a much more seclude rural area. I prefer my cats inside no matter where I live.

I got the antibiotic in him, because it is syringe fed (mouth syringe no needle). He let me give him that. It is the steroid tablet he is avoiding. He loves the greenies, but he will avoid any ones he can see a white tablet in. I will be able to give that to him later. Right now, no bleeding, no blood in mouth, even after he grooms. :)

Me too. On a CORNER. All dogs are leashed, but I just do not want to take any chances and I never ever let any of them out unsupervised. Siete is so good, he will heel and stay close to me and obey me like a dog. He never runs away, and he always comes when I call him. He does not need a harness. When it's time to come back in, he leads me to our front door and thats it...for about two hours, then he is whining to go out.

Agreed. To be honest, only Siete ever wants to go out. The other two show no interest in that.

Ours are curious and most likely want out, but even if we move, I am happy to have them inside. What would be awesome is a nice covered balcony for them. I would love that.

I would love that too. I have maximized the windows and they can use any of them they want, but this is the first apartment I have had without a balcony. :(

We only have the one cat now (ugly story about why the other one is no longer part of the family).

He only gets to go in the back yard, and is unable to get over the fence, so that's good.

The dogs and the cat have a huge house to run around in now, anyway, so overall, he's pretty happy.

Wow, are they siblings? Mother and daughter? Your cats are BEAUTIFUL! Shyla is a smoke kitty (her coat). Your cats are bonded at a level far beyond mine. I never see them hug each other like that, although Siete and Dante sometimes curl together for companionship. But they all hug me. Cedric is the gray tabby?

What awesome little tigers! :)

None of them are related :)
Shyla is the first cat we got -here-, and she is 6. Thea is the tiger looking one, and she is 6 months old. the cat she is hugging is Percy, and he is 5 months old. Shyla we got from the RSPCA as a kitten, Thea was from a kitten shelter, and Percy was a rescue kitteh.
Thea was from a litter of 6 however, so she liked having brothers and sisters, and poor percy was in a smaller litter, but kept alone as he was the runt. We did get them about 2 weeks apart however, so they just grew up togeather.

I know I really need human being friends. I find myself having more and more conversations with our cats. I will say though, they are very much more attentive to me. If anyone thinks animals have no real "personaliities", they should come to my house. Because of my baby Ba'al's kidney problems ( super dark pee and was blood in urine ) and no funds for UK vet, I have been flushing with fluids, via homemade tuna water ( fresh tuna in a splash of ice cold water ) and it is working!!! Less brown and no blood. But....................................they are both now spoiled. I can feed them and give water, have spic and span litterboxes and they will get annoyed. Kinda like...........Where's my fucking tuna Mom????

So much so,He will walk on top of mantle in living room. Wait for me to see him, and then one after another certain quick swipes of knocking my beloved stuffed animals and knick knacks off to floor...all with a smug look on his face. Like.....I said where's my fucking tuna mom?????? She will simply come sit on my laptop keys, while typing or go sit in middle of tv screen (only if on)if I am watching it in her opinion. When I am sleeping they will scratch at bed, and when on couch, they will scratch at sofa. If all else fails they will both just yow in my face. They need a daily fix.

I think I have some Tunaholics. It is an ugly thing. LOL, but it is keeping my sick boy around. Until we have cash for a vet. No cheap clinics here, gotta love USA for that, here a pet is a luxury, pay up or watch em die and quite frankly most Irelanders won't even shed a tear. This is a Baaaaaad place for pets. What else can you expect in a place where if you don't buy oil you freeze. Amazinlgy, people find a way and survive. Many cats run wild here and it breaks my heart but our babies help us save using oil by warming our bed nightly and snuggling on couch daily. The Irish could learn a thing or two with how helpful a pet can be. Plus both ours chase and eat any spiders ( MOFO EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKK!) and other critters as well.

Best thing I did in a long time was to get these cats. I honestly don't know how I could have done this without them. No matter how lonely I got when he was away working, I had my fur babies of joy to fill my life.

I know this! Tuna...kitty kryptonite. :) Mine just have to hear the electric can opener and there they all are. I only give it to them once a month now as a treat, and the rest of the time they get Blue Buffalo grain free (high protein). Gotta ask...how do you get water to your cats? I have water fountains for mine. They will not drink from standing water in bowls, so I made filtered water fountains using fish tank filters and glass bowls. They now drink lots of water every day.

You're MOM! What do you expect? :cat: :P

They now know where the only source of tuna in Ireland right now is MOM! If your cats inspect your groceries when you bring them home, like mine do, don't be surprised when they can recognize the tuna can. Mine do. They know the difference between the tomato paste can and the tuna can. :) Siete rubs on the tuna cans even though there is NO WAY he can smell what is inside. Perhaps the light blue color?

I feel you. You have your hubby (say hi from me). I have just my cats with me at home. Without them I would be bored and feel much lonlier than I do now. The cats are waiting in the window calling to me when I come home, they come running to say hello with their happy tails straight up in the air, and at night they snuggle and sleep on my bed. Then there are those special moments when one of them just decides to come to me and sit on my lap or lay on my chest with their paws around my neck like they are hugging me. And this is no matter if they have fresh food in their bowls and water (which they always do). It's pure love. :)

Cats are wonderful creatures, and despite what some people think, they are VERY affectionate and loyal.

They had a fountain in NL but somehow it was broken in one of their moves. I have to save up for another one but first I am saving for a big cat tree. They drink from a plastic bowl thing, it was a food feeder so slanted down but now I just use for water since they have a food hide and seek tower.

They both love the tuna, but she is crazy for it. She's a tiny thing and she is up your bumm if she suspects tuna. I cannot go to kitchen for anything without a little follower.

Mine get upset if I leave house for an hour.
