Blood And Chrome Watch and Discussion Thread

Did anyone buy the "virus" line? I thought that was pretty lame and it didn't make much sense to be withholding that information if it was true.

I anticipated that she wrote computer code and was going with her until the Galactica popped up onto the screen.

It didn't matter because command knew exactly what she was doing, which is why they set her up with false fleet information.

After two years at least we know what turned the tide of the war.

it will be nice to be able to watch b&c in its entirety (-commercial time--which i wonder, will the success or failure of "yt hits" drive advertisement sales for the b&c slot?) without the waiting a week in between

it is possible that they could still have starbuck's mom on the show--a marine sgt that Adama never even meets. Though Coker says he is married, i also like that his attitude "short-timer drop out" also fits the one of Starbuck's dad.

I too would much rather watch b&c then the junk that is on. used to be i looked forward to the next ep of several shows, now, sadly the only show that comes close to that is TWD and I don't really even like it!!

I would love to watch continuum. however i don't believe i have any options save the bbc or a netflix appearance
You are in BC right? Does it air on SPACE channel or something there or do you use alternative means?

Are you alive...snap.png

By the looks of it "Continuum" is going back into production on or around January 15. As far as I know this particular show is seen on some of the Shaw satellite stations after being broadcast on Showcase.

Everyone will have to wait till January 13th or around that time for Season 1 over on Syfy.

so continuum is coming to syfy? oh in the world did that happen!

also, this trailer, released back in march and "pulled" by syfy--though they didn't get all of them--because they said it was not a depiction of the final product, or something similar.

i do not see a thing different-other then the sex scenes, between this trailer and the show, do you?

ps: seems the best part of b&c is the song on the trailer:rolleyes:

Right, but at the moment I saw that scene I didn't know that. :P

So it is basically saying that command knew their people were too stupid to blow the bitch away before she plugged her pendant into the Cylon transmitter.

it is too many writers trying to copy the success of bsg. its like they copied sgu copying bsg and just got mostly bad

but at least we got some Tricia Helfer-kind of

They were also too stupid to blow the bitch away after she shot them both. Are we really to believe that Adama was that deep in love with her (after knowing her all of 15 minutes) that he wouldn't kill her after she tried to empty her gun into him?

And what was the point of him screaming as he shot up the consoles?

It did end fairly stylishly though, I have to give them that (the Adama in viper scene I mean).

I am not an expert but as far as I know there is only one Galactica in this Universe. I guess I should do some research and look up the original from the 1978 TV series.

Some of us were partially right and wrong at the same time. Being a computer scientist I thought that Bekka had written some sort of "virus code". Others were spot on about her being a traitor or maybe being a peace negotiator?

As far as I know the writers didn't develop in Blood and Chrome the mythology that we saw in BSG. Some people might be happy with Adama joining Special Ops and flying with those guys for two or three years.

Anyways good start if this show is the beginning of a series of web episodes.
its NOT and im seriously confused where people are getting that BS from..

classify those as a FAIL as the views have been abysmal and dissapointing for being a world wide instant free release and most of the episodes havnt even gotten a million views (last time i botheed to look) and that is terrible beyond terrible even.

hell i know atleast 5-6 lets players that get more views on their vids.

"its NOT and im seriously confused where people are getting that BS from"

because of the following from an interview with Eick in his webisode launch interview. these are some ref there were more:

"something altogether of groundbreaking from a visual effects standpoint to stick with the original plan and its future may be online, may be on air, maybe DVD in terms of subsequent future episodes or stories—who knows?

and with Jonas Pate, our director, hatched a next mission. Sort of what the next leg of this character study would involve and should we be fortunate to go forward.

There was absolutely the kind of very organic kind of evolution of where we leave the characters at the end of this story and what we would pursue as our next tale. And I'm very hopeful and optimistic that we'll be doing that soon".

BUT, If any future of B&C involves the lack of more depth and "sticking" to what has been laid out in RAZOR and CAPRICA in favor of attraction for teenage boys, then I will not really care if it has a future. It might as well be just another work of fan fiction

I watched it....meh.

The visuals were okay but in many respects silly. Why would the Galactica of then have 40 some main batteries all across its upper dorsal surface when both Galactica and Pegasus of NuBSG have far fewer? Why does Galactica's CIC look like some kind of gothic set from Event Horizon? What's with the cage on rails to travel through the ship (kind of like the Hitchhiker's Guide movie)? A lot of the visual choices just seem like someone got fanwanky and started changing things for the sake of change.

Storywise the plot was sort of weak and somewhat soapy too. Oh well.

I think the download/ upload count is deceiving. After downloading all 5 episodes , at most the megabyte count must be no more than 2400. If you have a new computer that is nothing with a modern day hard drive.

By the looks of it the BSG has their own version of a Jefferies Tube running down the middle of the Galactica's spine.

If there are no more B&C episodes to be made then all of my space opera hopes rest on the remake of "Blake's 7" and a pilot called "High Moon".

Cheery thought, I guess most of the old-timers who watched sci-fi in the fifties and sixties have all died off putting a crimp in the ratings.

I don't think web viewing equally reflects TV viewing, certainly not yet. Who knows the numbers this thing will put up when SyFy airs it in February? (that is when they're airing it, correct???)

sometime in feb, yes.

i am betting they air it on a saturday. If so, it would pre-empt the 18th showing of SHARKTOPUS! Or some b movie with C.Thomas Howell in it

C. Thomas Howell?!? Why would they preempt C? Say it ain't so! Not the big C! His movies are always blockbusters!

It was "meh" but I enjoyed it more than Tom Cruise's version.

Tom Cruise sucks ass. I really wish he would just retire and stop making movies. He's no Jack Reacher and the fact that he's going to ruin The Magnificent Seven is just sickening. We don't need a remake of the movie and we sure as hell don't need Cruise as the lead in it.

wow, you actually saw it? i only watched it out of complete boredom--the only good thing that came out of it was that at the end my netflix preferences suggested THE PENITENT MAN and LUNAPOLIS- 2 movies far better the WotW2.

I saw it on Syfylys on a boring, rainy Saturday afternoon.

Yeah, there's serious talk about a Magnificent Seven remake and Cruise is slated to be in the lead; the Yul Brenner role I suspect. Matt Damon is also attached, but I don't mind Damon so much. It's Cruise that is just such a tiresome twat that I literally don't watch his films anymore.

I finally got around to watching this after downloading the Blu-Ray release (I chose not to watch the webisodes, since I'm not a fan of the format), and I rather enjoyed it actually. It was indeed quite silly in places, as many of you have noted, but I was entertained none the less. I would definitely watch it if they turned this thing into a regular series, though I'm not holding my breath on that happening.
