They are going to have a couple of these "disease" episodes each year - it's part of the way the run the show. Having two in a row may have been a bit much though. As to Will and the "hulk", that was way back in Season 1.

This is another of my personal pet peeves. I see it as nothing more than a filler ep.

I have watched it since the beginning and remember it (the Hulk ep)being a long time ago. I don't expect true realism from this type of show, but "way back" in season 1 was 2 years ago not 10. I don't buy it. The disease eps each year is just weak writing. The whole ep was dedicted to it. Every type of show Hospital, Lawyer, Cop, Space that drifts off into this, irritates me to no end. For example, I don't want to watch Grissom get hunted down by the serial killer, I want him to find a killer in a non bias way. I don't want McSteamy to fight for his life , I want to watch him deal with a medical emergency on a patient. And it goes on and on and on. I know that they all do it. It might be "a part of the way they run the show" but I don't have to like it.

If they could just have a rule of thumb from now on. You are only allowed to have the characters almost die from some hideous disease ONCE EACH, anything more than that (even two years apart) is just annoying and ridiculous.

I enjoy stretching my imagination for these types of shows, but please don't insult my intelligence. This Does.

But Afterall, this is only IMHO and a pet peeve of mine.

I'd green you again but can't right now. ;)

I generally agree with Joelist but this time we're not seeing eye-to-eye. The mutant-disease-main-character-that-isn't-going-to-die thing is beyond played out. Sanctuary is a good show, but this was not a good episode. They seem a bit lost writing-wise after the whole underground city story line. Let's hope the show gets back on track soon. I don't want to see it get cancelled.

I'm not saying it was not a somewhat unwise move, all I am saying is that we cannot allow our personal likes or dislikes of a show dictate what we say about Syfy's decisions. I'll be interested to see how Eureka, W13 and Sanctuary work as a whole unit on Monday nights if what I have heard is true.

It's going to be Eureka, Warehouse 13 and Alphas. I'm glad Syfy is trying again to put a full night on but I do wish it was Sanctuary in with Eureka & W13.

Ahh, thank you THX1138, I sit corrected. :)
What is the plan for Sanctuary then?

Hopefully back where it belongs, on Fridays at 9pm CST. Alphas so far looks like utter dreck (more ripoffs of the old Mutant X show).

Sanctuary needs a new arc and it doesnt have to reach for the ends of the universe! God, I hope they dont add ANYTHING extraterrestrial to Sanctuary. No secret visiting aliens, no hidden alien ships or hiding alien abnormals or anything having to do with aliens. It will ruin the show completely. The Hollow Earth thing could have been done differently too. They have a strong cast and established characters and all they need is more stories. I like knowing that there is a Sanctuary NETWORK and there are other sanctuaries. That means possiblity of more stories or a change of locale in the future. :)

I haven't heard of any plans for Sanctuary, I don't think Syfy have any plans just yet. I imagine they are going to wait out till the end of this season before deciding where to place S4.

I remember an interview with Damian Kindler and he said that you won't ever see aliens on Sanctuary, so rest easy ;)

Did anyone find the whole hollow earth thing to have a sort of disappointing climax? I did love the buildup though. Haven't watched the new episode yet.

I agree, I think this should leave them open to going off in several directions and still being quite plausible. One of my favorite parts of this show is the mix of dealing with the insane in a sane way and still being funny. I hope they go back to more witty intellectual rapport with funny little digs thrown in. I still am looking forward to next's week ep and a fan of the show.

I didn't. You're assuming that was the climax, and I suspect we haven't seen the last of Hollow Earth yet. Remember this is not a new season we are seeing but rather the second half of that season.

I suspect you're right especially since they used Hollow Earth to help out with their little mutating Will problem in the last episode. Since Hollow Earth was left open ended that leaves it viable for more stories in the future.

So far I still find the first season of Sanctuary the best.

It was a disappointing conclusion to a two parter, regardless of whether we see more of Hollow Earth (which I think we will). I liked it but there was a distinctly different feel to both episodes and I felt they could have tightened up the script a bit.

Oh God! I don't, the first half of the season was so watered down for general consumption.

I wouldn't say that. It had a group of brilliantly acted and written episodes and yes, some average ones. For example, "The Five" was brilliant as was the one with just Will and Helen in a submarine. The finale was also excellent as Helen and the Sanctuary team get played like a fiddle by the Cabal. Folding Man was also very well conceived and executed.

Pretty nice episode this week. It did work the personal story angle to a degree but put it in a pretty funny context of trying to combine a double date with hunting an escaped abnormal.

To call the abnormal in this episode a "rubber masked monster" would be a kindness. Other than that it was a pretty good episode.
