Whitney Houston, dead at 48

Horrible news for the music industry...Whitney Houston died in Beverly Hills yesterday. What a voice that woman had. I remember her early songs and how amazed we all were by her soaring talent. It hasn't been revealed if her drug/alcohol addiction killed her; they had ruined her voice-- causes aside though....she will be missed!

It is sad to see the toll that drugs took on her body. Her voice was gone, her teeth were gone and her mind was definitely gone at the end. That cute, talented singer we all knew from the 80's had actually died long ago, we just didn't know it.

Yes, that was a very public deterioration. She went from this:

To this, and it happened within a year.

She should have kicked his sorry ass to the curb the day she met him. That being said, we are all responsible for our own actions. It is just a sad thing.

Now the daughter is rushed into hospital --

AP Entertainment Writer= LOS ANGELES (AP) — Paramedics say they took Whitney Houston's daughter to a Los Angeles hospital Sunday morning for unspecified medical reasons.

The Beverly Hills Fire Department says Bobbi Kristina Brown was taken from the Beverly Hills Hilton around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, less than a day after her mother died in a room at the same hotel.

The 18-year-old's condition was not immediately known.
An email message sent to a representative of her father, Bobby Brown, was not immediately returned.
Coroner's officials received Whitney Houston's body early Sunday morning, but have not yet said when an autopsy will occur. Any cause of death determination will likely be delayed while they await toxicology results.

Crack is whack!

What prompted the hotel to open her room was reports of water coming into the downstairs bathroom. She probably experienced an OD of prescription drugs and alcohol and took a bath (urban legend cure for OD) to recover. She had probably then feel asleep/passed out/died with the water faucet turned on.

It's natural that her daughter is so upset...the poor girl is only 18 and her mother has died horribly and unexpectedly. I hope Bobbi Kristina has people who love her around her. :(

I'm not surprised. Addiction always results in the same things: Drugs (and more drugs), Institutions and finally, Death. Textbook case. Bobby Brown should be ashamed of himself for neglecting his wife and daughter. Where was he when all this went down? :(

I'm pretty sure Bobby has a history of "chasing the dragon" himself. Chances are he's probably come close a few times himself.

"First it was Michael Jackson, then it was Amy Winehouse, and now the magnificent Whitney Houston. Let's legalize drugs, like Amsterdam, it's a very sane city now. So that they have to get it from a doctor, and not from some gangsters who sell it under the table." -- Tony Bennett

Odd statement considering they all died of legal drugs.

Odd quote considering they all died of legal drugs.

Well, Tony Bennett is 12 years older than God so chances are he doesn't even know what day it is.

Please explain. Do you have information about Amsterdam that Mr. Bennett does not have?

From the sound of it mr. Bennett might be one of those people who think Amsterdam is a country. It's not Amsterdam that dictates policies regarding drugs but the government of The Netherlands. Secondly, not any form of drugs is legalized here. In the case of marihuana there is sort of an agreement that law enforcement looks the other way to a certain extent. For example it would be considered okay to grow your own weed if you have no more than 5 plants. Ofcourse the coffeeshops (where they don't sell coffee) need loads more product every day to satisfy the demand of their customers. They must be getting it from somewhere, somewhere where somebody grows a whole lot of it. That person is basically growing it illegally and if he/she gets caught all the produce will be destroyed and a case will be made against that person. So it's not okay to grow it in large quantities, it's not okay to have it in large quantities, it is not really okay to sell it in large quantities. Still the coffeeshops are usually allowed to go about their business. All other drugs besides marihuana are definitely illegal though there used to be some doubts where magic mushrooms were concerned.

I always thought the Gov had thier own plantations so the could control price, THC lvls and turn a profit.

Guess not.

If only they did. I always thought that would be the best way to go. The only government run plantations are those that produce mediweed.

Whitney Houston's family was told by L.A. County Coroner officials ... the singer did not die from drowning, but rather from what appears to be a combination of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol ... this according to family sources.

We're told Coroner's officials informed the family there was not enough water in Whitney's lungs to lead to the conclusion that she drowned.

While it still counts as a doper death, as far as I am concerned, it needs to be noted that all of drugs were 100% legal.
