So, this takes place in the not so far future I suppose? Transformers have survived how many millennia? After surviving intact so long, how did Optimus Prime end up as a rundown rusted bucket locked up in a barn in such a short span of time?

Add in the same awful CGI robots that look like junk and whose fights are just a seizure inducing blob of flashes and clanks and you have the usual crud. Del Toro did a hugely better job on robots in Pacific Rim - they both look better AND when they fight it feels more like actual fighting.
