Star Trek Continues: The real Star Trek reboot you have been missing...

Just watched the one you posted. I do like a lot of the way it is done - but not sold on the guy playing Spock. He does the lines but doesn't seem to "get" the mannerisms. However the polish of the rest of it compensates.

Skinny Spock with the high cheekbones from Phase II is worse. The guy playing Spock in ST New Voyages is too muscular to be a Vulcan. We have seen many Vulcans over the years of Star Trek and none of them are muscular. That would not be an issue if his acting chops were not subpar. The guy playing Kirk has his role down pat. Brilliant acting. And Doohan has his dad's part down pat plus he looks like him too! The person playing Uhura has her part down pat as well, and she is a decent actress. Sulu works well, but Chekhov needs improvement. McCoy they keep swapping with different actors.

Spock is a tough one to do . The guy doin Kirk is awesome ...
It's just quite impressive to see them move the show forward as if it really never ended after 3 seasons ...
3 thumbs up !!!
:) :) :)

They are just partially through season 4, and then there is an entire season 5! They are going to continue the episode with the spaceship Yonada "For the world is hollow and I have touched the sky". I want to see what happened with the Iconians (the gangster planet). :)

This was published from Phase II after Abrams ruined the timeline. :)

Phase II is not too bad either .
Watching Mind Sifter. The guy doing DR Macoy is pretty close ...

Wow !!! There are quite a few keeping the flow going . Very nicely done also but Star Trek Continues is still my best choice ...

It was better before the original actor playing Kirk, James Cawely, decided to relinquish the part and become the show's producer. I don't like it much anymore.

Star Trek Continues is the best fan-made TOS-based series out there right now. The production values, the sets and the acting are all on par with what you'd expect from something with a decent budget.

Found this. The acting is a bit wooden, especially Picard. Troy's acting is high-school play quality.

Worf is downright horrible and Geordi is wearing cheap Oakley knock-offs.

Just think of the possibilities:

As Scotty......Sylvester Stallone
As Chekov......Dolph Lundgren
As Sulu.....Jet Li
As Uhura.....Naome Harris
As McCoy......Jason Statham

And as Kirk........Vin Diesel!

LOL! I watched that yesterday. :) As far as I know, no fan production has built authentic TNG sets yet. Geordi's actor and Troi are so out there it is laughable. Picard is wooden, but he makes a convincing Picard.

Cawley was the best Kirk in Phase II for sure. What I don't get is that Phase II has been around for more than 10 years and they still have not really gotten things down pat yet. The first episode has the same production values as the latest from them. But Star Trek Continues busted out from the gate with top notch production values, great actors (and a stable cast roster), and exceptional writing.

Boy . What a dissapointing porn that was ... Pucard is pretty good . He sounds a bit like when Picard was a young boy . Jordi is ok mostly . The visor thing could be a copy right so they went with oakleys .
Riker is not too bad . Warf is really the odd one out here though right along with the Troys . They both have zero emotions with there lines and there chests . Only got half way through the whole show ...
The set is pretty cheesy but ok for a super low budget outfit . Good effort just the same .

Got through it all finally . My wife was watching from across the room and thought I was watching a missed episode of TNG until she put her glasses on so I guess they did a good job then ...

I hope somebody builds an authentic TNG-era bridge and stuff from that universe. It does not have to be the Enterprise, it could be anything but put it in the TNG universe and not the TOS universe. Besides Axanar, not much fan stuff to find in that era. :(

Found this. :) It is a shortie, only about 8:30min. But it is TNG-era, and nicely acted and finished:

Nothing more from this guy yet.

Creepy is right! T'Pol sounds like a female HAL.

The faces are correct, but appearing on what appear to be puppets filmed in stop motion? T'Pol is the worst, but Capt Archer and Tucker sound okay. I could not watch the whole thing. :)
