Spartacus: Blood and Sand

Is anyone else watching this amazing show? It was a bit rocky for the first three episodes or so, the violence can look ridiculous and very animated, and the nudity is borderline porn at times, but I still love this show. The writing, acting and everything has been fantastic all the way through! Oh, and this is most likely the only show where you'll hear Lucy Lawless utter the words: "I need your cock inside me." :icon_lol:

It's just too bad that the show is on Starz so you have to wait almost a year between seasons, or two in this case since it was delayed by Andy Whitfields cancer and the resulting recating of his role. At least we got the prequel Spartacus: Gods of the Arena (one of the best prequels I've ever seen) out of it, but it's just six episodes long and that's just not enough, dammit!

Indeed! By the way, are you also incredibly annoyed over the fact that we'll only get one more episode and then there's probably a year of waiting until season 2 of Blood and Sand comes along?

indeed i am but i'll live hopefully the yearlong wait might mean whitfield heals up and will be able to return. if not i guess we'll have to make due with the new guy.

im also quite curious as to how they will tackl s2 and iff they will stay true to the legend/history of the real spartacus or if they'll go there own way (since it ended kinda badly for him in reality)

btw since you like both these shows and the wire which is another one of my faves i have to ask do you watch Sons of anarchy? thats another brilliant show imo and i just found it a few weeks ago when TV4 launched TV11 and started airing it from episode one (i got instantly hooked on it)

I also saw the first ep of "the walking dead" on 11an tonight not sure its up my alley but ima give it a go.

I wouldn't get my hopes up since I'm hearing that they're supposed to start shooting the second season this spring. I wish Andy all the best, but since he approved of casting the new guy I hope he'll do well.

True, and I hope that they try and make it as historically accurate as possible. I don't think the writers will try and go for a nice and happy ending since...
they had no problem with killing his wife.

I've heard great things about Sons of Anarchy, but I just haven't had the time to check it out. It's on my list though. By the way, have you watched Boardwalk Empire? If you haven't you should definitely check it out, it's a very good show. Plus, it has Omar from The Wire in it, and that alone is a good reason to give it a try. :D

I've watched all 6 episodes of The Walking Dead and I think it's a pretty good show. It's an example of shows like Spartacus where you have to wait almost year between new seasons.

yeah i know the chance of andy coming back is slimmer then SGU coming back but one can hope ;)
and as the same team is making s2 ill still dive right in and trust them as they havnt failed me yet.
and yes i hope they make it accurate aswell but the story after he
slays batiatus is allittle all over the place first going north then south then trying to go north again only to be butchered
but hopefully they do it justice.

and aaw dude you SERIOUSLY need to check it out i guarantie it wont dissapoint (ill revoke your Swe citizenship if you dont LOL!), SOA is made by the same guys that made "the Sheild" and that show wasnt bad either.

and boardwalk empire? ok ill have a browse and see what its all about.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with hoping.

I trust them too and no matter what happens I am sure they will give us an epic and entertaining season.

RELAX! I will check it out, but I'm a little busy with watching Top Gear at the moment. I enjoyed The Shield a lot so I think I will like SoA too. Though there may be an advantage to losing my Swedish citizenship, because then maybe people will finally stop telling me to watch melodifestivalen. :P

Been watching "Gods of the Arena"

But I didn't know it was a prequel. I watched the first episode and thought it was too over the top with the sex and characters but then of course I got hooked. :icon_lol:

I love that the gal from "Warehouse 13" is in it. She's so good! LOVE "Gaia"! :tealc_newanime006:

Yeah it's like that, and I thought B&S was a bit over the top as well in the beginning but of course I got hooked too. :D But now you have 13 episodes of Blood and Sand to look forward too! I really think you'll enjoy them. :beckettu:

Yeah, Jaime Murray is awesome, and she was great in the second season of Dexter as well. Another show she's topless in. ;)

Haye its extreemly over the top but also quite realistic.
me i still cant get over the scene in the first ep where baiatus goes to the public "shit-a-torium"
squats down and contiues the discussion while he sqeezes one then wipes with the wipe-r may others seem to have used before :)

ancient civilasation was def nasty in more ways then one :P

I agree that it's pretty damn realistic and also very unhygienic. I'm not one to be afraid of germs or anything, but if I had to choose holiday destinations, then ancient Rome would not be my first choice!

LMAO! couldnt come up witha short adequate description so shit-a-torium it is ;)
and same here but in all honesty modern rome isnt much removed as the whole city feels like they are living in ruins, its felt very weird when i was there. i still managed to have a nice time tho :)

Well it has a nice ring to it. :P
Yeah I thought the same when I was to Heraklion on Crete. I actually think that a lot of cities around the mediterranean is like that. :)

and i had my top gear marathon a few months back thats awesome TV right there and its sunday right? well monday now.. but the new episode should be "up" soon enough, ive also been trying to watch Top gear austrailia but its sort of tedious as the aussies are quite aussie if you catch my drift, still moderatly entertaining tho.

and i agree melodifestivalen is awful just awful idol is even worse :P
and people are trying to get me to watch solsidan but i just dont find herngren funny so its a bit difficult to see that "fun" in it.

and trailer looks sweet ill def try it out for an episode or 3.

Indeed. I love going there and the Greek islands are definitely one of my favourite places. I go down there almost once a year but this year I'm going to America for the first time instead because I'm visiting relatives I've never met before.

I'm noticing that. :P
I actually lost track of Top Gear for a while and just now I started watching it again (new episodes and a rewatch from S1). It's on sundays because I'm able to download it on mondays. I haven't watched Top Gear Australia but I did not like Top Gear US. Top Gear is great because of the chemistry between the hosts and the American guys just don't have that.

Indeed. I hate all kinds of game shows or reality tv. It's just crap! I actually like Solsidan a bit, and Dorsin, Bornebusch, and Rheborg are all great in it. I'm not a fan of Herngren either, but I liked him in this old commercial. :P

It's a small town called Anacortes in northern Washington. It's pretty close to the border with Canada. I'll most likely go to Seattle too since I have relatives there as well, and there's talk about maybe visiting Vancouver while we're at it.

ive been to rome twice and ive been once to egypt (only for 3 days and i only saw the pyramids at a distance).

and id like to visit america sometime but with my criminal record and the communist party thing i think my chances are quite slim of getting in.

however during my 3rd year of botany/gardening school i was offered a full payed internship (Praktik) in the states as one of my teachers had connections there but i declined and went to the netherlands instead suffice to say i cant remeber much of the 6 months i spent in noordholland :P
