Joseph Mallozzi discusses his new ideas for stargate.

Yes, he's clearly scraping to get another Stargate paycheck. Good luck with that! :icon_lol:

BTW, I didn't hate DM but I certainly didn't love it. I gave the show a chance despite the fact that the characters and plot lines were derivative of other, better scifi writing. I never bothered watching the final season because I gave up when Mallozzi tried the hack writing gimmick of having the android discover her humanity. My God, how many times do we have to see that plot played out? If it's not a super fast growing alien/human baby it's some form of AI trying to become human. :rolleye0014::rolleye0014::rolleye0014:

As for Stargate coming back because of Origins, again, good luck with that. Ain't gonna happen Joe. :icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol:
Derivative is fine as long as you make it interesting enough to make it work with the story arch. The problem I have with a lot of scifi is that they tend to dumb things down to cater to a wider audience. Like for example, the other I learnt that the matrix battery concept was actually a dumb down version of their original concept which was a neural network. They originally had intended humans to be part of a neural network for AI. That to me makes a lot more sense than say a battery which sounds stupid.

A few of the stargate alumni joined in for a stargate pitch. Guess they are out of ideas too and a job. Stargate will come back as a tv series or perhaps as a mini series but it won't be the stargate we remember. They'll most likely butcher it like they did with origins.
