IMO, his humor is second to none in the scientific community. :icon_lol:

It's about how religion negated progress. He specifically goes into the Arab history, how they were once the pillars of intellect, the scientific leaps that occurred in that part of the world specifically between 800 AD and 1100 AD and how the words of one religious figure in the 12th century tore it all down by declaring math as the work of the devil and how we have not fully recovered since.

You're right. more like 10000 years and before.

EDIT: I will say 12,000 years. This because the revisions to ancient site ages continues rearward.


watch life after people -- our technological society would fade very fast! ;) that show is very eye opening ...especially when they visit places that have only been abandoned 30 or 40 years and you see how fast they have deteriorated. we have a "disposable society" where nothing is made to last anymore it seems. ;)
