When the language of math becomes fuzzy, it is no longer useful. There should be no PEDMAS or BODMAS rules. There needs to be a universal order of operations, universal understanding of variables, and nobody's name should be on any equation, formula or operation.

totally agree--a universal principle like math, should have a complete universal language-without inconsistencies,even little ones

you know in some countries, they don't even set up a long division problem they way we do

so if you saw it, you may not even know what function you were being asked to do
