Star Wars VII - The Force Awakens

I doubt he can ever come back in Star Wars (no time travel nonsense in SW) as far as a flesh and blood character. But as a Force ghost? Almost certainly, and not just in this movie but the two that follow as well. Abrams will use him as he used Leonard Nimoy in Star Trek 2009 and STID.

I just don't see the need to use Yoda in that way. Spock prime was used to add continuity to what was a re-boot, and that is not the case here. Yoda is not even the one that Luke has the most feelings for (that would be Obi-wan, or Vader).
Using Yoda in such a way would simply make no sense, force spirit or not. Everyone wanted Yoda in the prequel's to see the "green Jedi master" at work, to see just how badass the little muppet was in his "heyday" (and even that drew criticism with him being a ninja), but he just has no valid place in this series.

Yoda = MONEY. For many SW fans, Yoda is at the center of the Star Wars story even though he isn’t. :). There is no other character in the Star Wars saga that comes close to replacing him. Who is the wisest Jedi when you take Yoda out of the picture?

Yoda probably is just there to talk to Luke a la Obi Wan in the OT. That will give Kasdan the opportunity to fix his character from how it got wrecked in the prequels (in the prequels Yoda comes off as dumb as a rock).

I agree. He will be guidance for Luke in this if he shows up. It would not make sense for him not to be in there somewhere even if just as a Force ghost.

If that is the case, then you will have Boba Fett as well, do you think he will be in it?
(Yes, Boba and Slave One are just as much of a drawcard for money as Yoda could be, trust me.)

I hear the dummy comments about Yoda in 1-3, but I don't know how people get to it.
Anyone care to enlighten me?

Im only agreeing with you on Boba because when I go online to play certain games, there are some Boba fans. But why? I do not understand why there are fans of Boba Fett as though he were a central character. In the OT movies, he is just an "incidental bad guy". In the prequels he figures in a bit more prominently. But I just do not understand what all the hype is about Boba Fett amongst some fans. Overall, he has less screen time in Star Wars than Jar Jar in the prequels, and in the OT he is bordering on an extra. Why the hype about him? I don't get it. And how is it they think a Boba Fett movie is going to be all that? Does he become something more in the EU that I am not aware of? BTW, even within the Star Wars fandom, Boba Fett is not revered like he is amongst a small (but rabid) following of that character.

Why?

Good answer...now, do you think you might be able to explain why you think the majority of the Star Wars fanbase hates the prequels?
Poor writing
Overuse of CGI leading to a "plastic, Transformer-esque look"
Jar-Jar Binks.
Little kids.
Uninteresting overarching plots
Lack of explanation of said plots (WHY are Naboo and Kashyyk important systems for example)
Poor use of the existing elements to a degree.
I have heard so many arguments. :) My nextdoor neighbor is a RABID Star Wars fan. He has a stormtrooper costume, and his office has Star Wars posters on the wall along with a huge framed poster of Boba Fett. He hates the prequels, and he can articulate his reasons play by play. he has even pre-purchased opening night Star Wars tickets for him and his wife.
I have star wars lego all over my house, lightsabres, posters of the movies, 50-60 novels, the star wars fact files, multiple copies of the movies, TCW and Rebels, 3 versions of the RPG, played SW:TOR for 3 years, and it means exactly jack shit about my opinion, all it means is that I -really- like star wars.

Rabies! :P I have to respect your knowledge of Star Wars lore, despite how I feel about the prequels. :) So, what is the name of the planet that Yoda's species comes from, and how come we have not seen any younger examples of his race? They are obviously long lived. Yoda died from sickness, not old age.

Could they bring in another Jedi from his planet? Yobi? :icon_razz:

Nothing is ever really done with Yoda, his race, or where he comes from, Yaddle is the only other member of the same race IIRC:

Could they have another one of his race?
Sure, Lucas is no longer in charge of the product, so I guess so. Don't think it would be a good idea though. Yoda is iconic for the same way Boba is, he says little, is mysterious and looks cool

But Yoda is DEAD! They managed to being back a Darth Vader-esque character for the new film, so why not a Yummi or Yobi or Yada? :moody: (can you tell he was my favorite SW character?)

Darth is a title, so it is no surprise a darksider would fashion themselves on the sith dude.

Lucas was the one who stopped any extra stuff with Yoda, now he is gone, you might get your wish :P

yes that does look a bit like Mandolorian armor, and if it is, it could be anyone. There are many Mandolorian bounty hunters/mercenaries in the galaxy. I beleive this is a Knight of Ren though-it seems they may all have their own unique style-it could be a Mando member of the Ren

There are rumors that Boba Fett joined the Ren

Yes, but the ONLY Sith to ever wear a full head mask is Darth Vader, and he did because of his being burned by lava. It makes no actual sense for any other Sith or anyone able to breathe the atmosphere to wear that mask. It was done because Abrams wanted to have Darth Vader in the movie and the story killed him off before he got his grubby little hipster hands on the franchise. :icon_cool:
