Would you consider Dexter to be Science and Fiction ?

In a way I would consider Dexter to be Science and Fiction but not compared to the typical si-fi that we enjoy . Obviously a more CSI type of show but his method and the fact that he is able to get away with it takes a ton of science and planning though we all know in the real world he would have been caught and jailed in the first season .
Dexter scares the crap out of me yet I find myself rooting for him in every episode . Other than Si-Fi shows this is my #1 show that I like to watch .
I have just finished season 5 and it kept me on the edge of my seat as have all the season's .
Anyone else a fan ?

Dexter is a combination of horror and black humor, but not science fiction. However, it IS fiction (made up).

Yes, I do watch Dexter.

I like Dexter too, but I wouldnt consider it science fiction. I would say its horror/drama. Science is not the main orienting component. Jus my opinion. But I like the show!

I take the show with a grain of salt.

It's nice to have a show with a juicy antihero. At least his "code" keeps him from being someone we'd end up hating. That's a very clever plot device.

Fair enough OM1 . Also I started the post as Science and Fiction , separating the two as to bring up 2 point's about Dexter . Fiction being #1 to many a living person's relief ( unless you are a scumbag ) , and Science being a maybe but think it of at least being scientific pertaining to his being a Blood Works Specialist . He uses this skill to his advantage to save his butt on a regular basis . Science/Fiction ? Not even close, but it is Science , though a gruesome one at that . Fiction , Yes . Horror/Drama . Absolutely .

The Code is a very brilliant plot and it is always very interesting when he has to stretch the rules !!!

The "anti-hero" with a moral code is avery common device in novels as a way to understand thier motivations, but it can be a easy way to wreck a character as well. The other common one is the "moral crusader" who always thinks they are doing the right thing, but refuse to see the damage thier "pure ideals" can do.

Oh, I know. I'm just referring to this character in particular.
