what's missing

I just started re-watching SGA and I see an important element of the SG1 & SGA that is missing in SGU.
Peter DeLuise & Martin Wood

Any thoughts?

I remember thinking the same question quite often. Deluise I recall in the Behind the Scenes videos to be the funny guy on the set, the one thats pulling the jokes on the show. Martin Wood I recall being pretty good too. Wood is one Sanctuary which rocks! IMO all the good people moved to Sanctuarys, actors, writers, and crew. Not to mention Sanctuary gets so many guest stars from SG actors.

It does seem like the real energy of Stargate has shifted to Sanctuary.

According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Stargate_Universe_episodes): episodes S1E04, S1E05, S1E16, S2E09, S2E11, S2E12 were/will be directed by Peter DeLuise.

Amazingly I thought none of the S1 eps were directed by him.
