Knew nothing about this, not a video gaming person
but, seems it didn't start with gaming but with novels (below)
as for the show--
some familiarity to other movies/shows
like how the army of Nilfhelm seems to be a army of true believing fatalists as in CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK and the necromongers
some copy from other fantasy, like Lord of the Rings, but this is more like LOTR's porno
I like the story with a common theme throughout, even though the characters don't realize there is one
Also, the diff time periods spanning about 30 yrs. The only bad thing on this was that the show could have some on screen script stating this
What I would like to know is if the video games/books have what I noticed in the series? That is, are those also female centric?
As in, does so much of the important and heroic action come from the female characters?
Yes,Geralt does do some good deeds, but this we expect as we quickly learn this is his job--he is a hero for hire
Last ep, the battle is won by women while Geralt is half conscious in a wagon
And, a lot of "my body my choice" stuff. Yennifer wanted to be transformed and she was warned of the cost, yet she went ahead anyhow. But near the end-and yrs later- she gives a narrative of not having a choice and transformed against her will
Is this more Femdom/SJW stuff being put in to our entertainment or is it per source material?
This doesn't wreck the show though, I am fine with female heroes so long as that is what was meant to be per the plot and is not done for some real world messaging
