Kids Shows

What shows did you all use to watch when you were younger? Y'know, around 5, 6 years old, etc.
I remember that my grandfather got a channel which showed nothing but old classic kids shows like the original Scooby-Doo, Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes and stuff like that.

This sure beats the hell of of stuff like Hannah Montana or Yu-Gi-Oh! :D

Maybe not a kid show but one of my earliest favorite favorites was Six Million Dollar Man; I adored it! I joined the fan club (the only one ever I joined) and I had the action figure (too bad he was too short to marry my barbies -- had to steal my brother's GI Joe, tall and so rugged, he made my Ken -- with real hair! -- look like such a wimp. Wait...maybe Steve started out belonging to my brother, too...). I couldn't understand how either Farrah Fawcett or Jamie Summers could resist him! That, and re-runs of Star Trek (watched with my Dad), along with Sagan's Cosmos set me on the road to loving off-beat and sci fi shows my whole life.

I also watched Captain Kangaroo, Electric Company (a favorite!), Zoom, the Monkees, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, um......

Oh! Land of the Lost! Those Sleestaks were SCARY! You know, if you think about it, that show was an early introduction for kids to the concepts of time and relativity, alternate universes, etc. With Dinosaurs! lol

Oh man, I grew up on Tom & Jerry, Looney Toons, Superfriends, Laffalympics, Courageous Cat & Minute Mouse, Scooby Doo, Smurfs, Thundercats... Sigh.... Ah, to be a kid for a day back in the 70's again. Sometimes I feel cartoons like this is all that we need to heal the world...

gotta love those saturday morning "live-action" shows! :P I also never understood how anyone could walk away from Lee Majors. that man car park his boots under my bed ANYTIME!!;) My first hot crush and I will admit hubby likes to tease that my love of hubby's hairy chest can be traced straight back to lee majors in the six million dollar man's opening credits...yooowsah! ;)

yep i remember land of the lost - although I admit I always wanted to choke the kid ("holly") she annoyed me to no end. a side bit of trivia- Ron Harper who replaced the dad in the final half season had also starred in "The Planet of the Apes" tv series- one of my old faves. Loved teh camp of batman and green hornet. Watched a lot of The big Valley (with a younger and oh my god how hunky can a man be and still be legal !!) lee majors.

lights flickering here- gotta go!

Try Wacky Racers, Foghorn Leghorn, Wylie Coyote, Grape Ape, Gray Ghost, Gilligan's Island, Wonderful World of Disney, Gumby and Pokey, Scooby Doo, Johnny Quest, Fantastic Four, Wonder Woman, Bionic Man and Woman, Batman, Green Hornet, Dark Shadows, Mutual of Omaha, Buckskin Bill, Captain Kangaroo. Ed Sullivan and Lawrence Welk, La Hayride and alot of french things. Tweety Bird, Tom & Jerry, The Three Stooges, Sherlock Holmes, Mannix, The Fugitive, The Man from Uncle, Get Smart, Mission Impossible, and of course anything ELVIS was in.

Gee, we weren't allowed to watch tv until the evenings after homework and Supper. Saturday mornings only after your chores were done. We were also 4 kids so we had to share the TV.

Is this the show you are thinking of?

That show is mega oldschool Nickelodeon. Way before that any of the Nicktoon garbage, I rarely come across anyone who remembers it besides me.

Looking on youtube I came across another one of my favorites:

They just don't make children's programming the same anymore.
