Functioning Synapse Created Using Carbon Nanotubes

Engineering researchers the University of Southern California have made a significant breakthrough in the use of nanotechnologies for the construction of a synthetic brain. They have built a carbon nanotube synapse circuit whose behavior in tests reproduces the function of a neuron, the building block of the brain.
Kickass!!!! The wonders of Science :). But this is scary if you think about it...

Think the Senate is part of Congress.

Now they just need to build 99,999,999,999 more of these things to match the amount in the brain. Well, if you take out the ones used for sex stuff and thoughts, you'd probably only need about 1/4th that number.
