The Game of Thrones writers who were slated to write the next Star Wars trilogy for Disney have walked away from Disney and Star Wars trilogy plans with them. Disney has attempted to woo them back, but they stood firm and have made a new $500 million deal to produce shows for Netflix.

this isn't a setback, its progress
their netflix deal was announced a few months back. dont know who signed them first NF or DSNY, but the scope and quantity of stuff NF wants for them seemed to leave little time for DSNY
and, they are over rated, sure they can do book adaptations well (GOTs) but when they had to go on their own without source material (last season and a half of GOTs) GOT fans said they sucked at it
a good chance DSNY and SW's is dodging a bullet here. they should stick with TV/streamer shows. those have been very good. from CW's and REBELS and, i am told RESISTANCE (Have not watched it at all) they seem to be much more well received then the films have been, except ROGUE ONE, by sw's fans
the MANDALORIAN looks good so far, they are being very tight with what they let out on it, know in a few weeks
and they should ditch all of these big budget, high salaried directors for the movies and have their tv show runners do the films. they are actual fans of SW's and i think they would do a much better job if DSNY insists on films
