The BBC have confirmed the speculation that space drama Outcasts, which concluded its first series last night, won't be back for a second series. The show's publicity department told CultBox this morning: "I'm afraid there won't be another series of Outcasts."
Created by former Spooks writer Ben Richards, the show's cast included Hermione Norris (Spooks), Daniel Mays (Ashes To Ashes), Eric Mabius (Resident Evil) and Amy Manson (Being Human). The series launched in a primetime slot in February, but was moved to a late-night Sunday slot following disappointing ratings.
Earlier this month, the lead writers of Spooks revealed that they believe Outcasts should have been given more of a chance by BBC One. Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley told CultBox: "Ben [Richards] is hugely talented (a crucial part of Spooks’ success, of course) and if you’re watching Outcasts, you know it’s getting better all the time. New, ambitious, original shows need support and patience."
Outcasts is dead!

It did sorta die halfway through, lol.

I stopped watching it after 2 episodes, as it was competing against ANTM on Sky Living and Glee on E4.

Same! I just lost interest after they killed jamie. Which could probably explain why the ratings dipped. Not to mention, the first two episodes weren't interesting enough for me to waste my time.
