Those are really good pics. Sorry for what you're going through. I've been there myself and don't look forward to being there again in the future when I get another dog.
Under every tree in our back forty, we have buried at least one family member of the furry kind. Last year we had to part with a 22 year-old member of the family.
Some pets are just too hard to part with. I feel your pain.
Dogs especially can be hard to part with as they tend to bond with their families and develop quirky personalities. I have a 12 year old female Border Collie and some day she will pass away - a day I don't look forward to as she is a real character.

"My" dog Buffy was a mutt - the most wonderful fabulous animal in the world. She's been gone since I was 20(33 years) and I STILL miss her. she's the #1 reason I have never had another dog- it broke my heart when she died. (the #2 reason is allergies )
