Sorry, I just find this funny.
First they came out with Office for iPad which not only is WAY more functional than iWork or any other mobile office solution but actually adheres more closely to Apple's interface guidelines than any of the others as well. The result is more people using Office on their iPad than iWork.
Then, yesterday we finally see a new version of Outlook for Mac released ahead of the release of the whole Office for Mac 14 suite. And again it completely smokes all of the other Mac email solutions in both speed and functionality. It makes Apple's mail.app look awful in comparison and also is way better than Thunderbird and other such.
It's probably not that surprising as the "Mac Group" at Microsoft is off in it's own reporting structure and runs a lot like an autonomous business, but still has all the advantages of resources and access.
