Save your money and do not buy Proactive Acne Solution . It is just Hydrocortisone Cream which you can buy over the counter for way way less . You can also buy HC with Aloe in it similar to Proactive ingredient's .

As they say !!! If it's on TV !!! It's too good to be true !!!

Hydrocortisone? I would be surprised if it contained that. I would imagine it does contain benzoyl peroxide which is in about 99% of all the over the counter acne meds. I figure it's just standard clearasil in a fancy bottle and price marked up due to celebrity endorsement.

From looking at the product description, the "active ingredient" is indeed Benzoyl Peroxide, to which at least five percent of the population has a bad reaction. It can also cause the skin to dry out and peel.

Euw. No thanks.

some people have NO common sense

when she first went away to college, Snookie had a roomie who spent a lot money on proactiv and couldn't figure out why it didn't help...turns out the girl slept in her makeup....talk about clogging her pores. Snookie suggested the girl use inexpensive cleansers to make sure her face was make-up free every night and within a couple of weeks her roomie's acne cleared right up! I am so glad snookie has common sense! :D

Accutane.

Cleared me up in ways OTC stuff never could. Cleansers help nicely to maintain afterwards, but i went from nerdy 13-14 year old to 15 year old club going raver :D

Isotretinoin does work great for severe acne but it's got many nasty side effects. It's a severe teratogen and its dispensing is regulated (ipledge). Its use has been linked to hair loss, inflammatory bowel disease, stunted growth, depression/suicidal thoughts and possibly crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. The risks associated with it definately make the drug not recommended for everyone.

only did one cycle, and i've probably screwed my liver over more with alcohol in teh time since then. The whole depression/suicide thing i think is more psychological since i actually got 'happier' when taking it. That could be the "Holy crap! No more acne!"

Dont take proactiv, just stop drinking milk!

Its even easier: STOP DRINKING MILK! Most acne sufferers dont realize or care that drinking cow's milk is supremely bizarre and unhealthy. Adult humans (the biochemistry that exists after puberty and during puberty) is incompatible with milk...even human milk. Thats why people become "lactose intolerant". Its nature's way of telling you should not be drinking milk AT ALL. It also serves to protect the mother's milk supply against adult consumption of the milk. But the bizarre twist is that adult humans are not just drinking milk unnaturally, they are drinking COW's milk which is tailor made for calves. And even calves dont drink it after weaning.

Having said that, the result of drinking milk and/or milk products like ice cream, shakes, yogurt, latte, etc will CAUSE the acne in the first place. Dont take Proactiv at all. Your acne can be traced to something you are eating or drinking, and 90% of the time it is related to milk:

There are HUNDREDS of links and articles from private and public sources which connect the consumption of dairy foods to acne. Acne pimples are a REACTION to something you are putting in your body, and 90% of the time the culprit is milk and sugar.

Oddly enough, I dislike milk. I like dairy products like cheese or yoghurt, but I can't stand the test of milk.
