Out of Surgery

Yesterday morning I went into surgery, and was in there for about 3 hours. Came out okay (Praise the Lord) and got to come home today, where I am on restricted activity for the next week or so. Anesthesia is ugh! Took me over 12 hours to be out of it enough for reasonable cogency. So now I have no option but to watch stuff - online with Doomcock on Friday Night Frolics now.

Hi!

I am more or less operational at this point. Out of the anesthesia effect but to be honest also sleeping a lot and tired. Tomorrow it is back to Loyola for packing removal and cleanup / look for leaks. Hopefully I can resume heavier physical work in the next week or so.

And got most of the packing removed at Loyola yesterday. Made my head feel like someone had been working inside of it with metal tools - which ironically someone was. Still a couple of stents in there and some more packing that has to come out Friday.

Super busy, and the house stuff, but we are all good, just been staying in the house for a year.

It was pretty extensive sinus surgery including work up at the brain case. Lot of polyp removal and drainage and the stents are there to especially get the inner ears drained (which was why I had no sense of balance).

I have been De-Stented!

Now it is maintaining a regimen of saline flushes and also a sinus antibiotic for a while. T-Minus 14 day till I can resume gym!

I have my sense of balance back, my taste buds are starting to work again as well. Sense of smell may be kaput for good - surgeon was honest about it and said there is damage there and only time will tell if it heals up properly. I have been blessed that my surgeon is one of the top specialists in this field in the world.

And.....fully cleared!

I resumed work May 25th and have been buried in it. With this issue addressed and things opening up I have started investigating a late year trip possibly. Maybe one of the UK cruises they are starting up once they accept Americans?
