Jane today...she has aged VERY well! She is going to be GREAT!

Back at San Diego Comic Con in July this year, "V" showrunner Scott Rosenbaum said that they will introduce Anna's mother in the new season. Keeping the details short, Rosenbaum did not say that they had someone from the original series in mind.

Jane Badler will be reprising her '80s role as Diana. The actress first slipped in the role in the 1983 telepic "V" before reprising it on the miniseries as well as the TV series which was canceled abruptly by NBC in 1985.

According to TV Guide, Diana is being kept in a part of the mother ship that is set up to look like the V's home planet. Rosenbaum said at the Con that Diana will be introduced in the first episode as a mean to explain where the visitors come from. The show, however, will not return until midseason.

In the last episode of season 2, viewers were given a glimpse of Anna feeling her first human emotion. "It starts in episode one, with the continuation of the Red Sky story, and an explanation of the fact that Anna felt human emotion for the first time, and unleashed the Red Sky early, how that really starts to screw up the whole plan that Anna had come up with," Rosenbaum revealed.

that would be great, but marc Singer hasn't aged nearly as well as Jane Badler has but it would be great to see him or Juliet Parrish (Faye Grant) on the show.

JANE BADLER JOINS CAST OF ABC’S “V” IN A RECURRING ROLE​

Actress Jane Badler, best known for her role on the original “V” series, will join the cast of ABC’s “V” as a recurring guest star, playing Diana, mother to Anna (Morena Baccarin), who is now the leader of the Vs. Badler will make her debut in the Season 2 premiere of the series.

“V,” which received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series, stood as television’s No. 1 new drama during the 09-10 TV season in the key Adult 18-49 sales demographic, delivering substantial year-to-year improvement in both of its Tuesday time periods (8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.). “V” finished No. 1 in both time periods among key Men (M18-34/M18-49).

Season 2 will feature more character and lizard reveals, more details about the Vs’ mythology – in which Badler will play an important role — and more action and more plot twists. Viewers can expect a roller coaster ride week to week.

SGU is dead if they go head to head. Even the SGU squeedroids at GW will watch it.

Either way, they will no doubt introduce Badler in a well scripted, tactful way, as opposed to the way SGU literally excretes their previous series tie-ins. Not bad for a 'just another letter of the alphabet' show.
