He played the quintessential bad guy. Anyone who has watched TV in the last 30+ years has seen his work (and hopefully appreciated it). He was in everything! If I was an actor I'd wish to work as much as he had.

Apparently, he came by those scars in 1967 when, while very high on LSD, he accidentally set fire to himself.

I think the scarring actually added to his success as a villainous character in whatever he did.

I really respect the work ethic of journeyman actors such as Lynch. People like C.C.H. Pounder (who appear in just about everything) astonish me. I'd love to be a fly on their agent's wall to see how they juggle all those different acting gigs. It's like they never stop working.
