way low brow job, but easy as far as thinking and great exercise
one day we had a new guy, about 20 yrs old. i liked to mess with new guys
we were cutting 4-5ft , 6" wide and 2" thick white oak
guy asked me what they were for
i told them they were all going to a toothpick factory i held up one board and gave it a serious look
""just think of how many toothpicks can be made from this one board?"
"oh...wow!" he said
at lunch the manager came by and told me to stop f'cking around with the new ppl
