The current season of
Eureka is thrilling us, what with Felicia Day, Wil Wheaton and Stan Lee popping up to make the lives of the regular inhabitants of that small town of super geniuses even more intriguing, but what about next season?
Actually—what about the one AFTER that?
Syfy has reportedly ordered only six episodes for
Eureka's sixth season, as opposed to the 13 episodes currently filming for season five.
Deadline is reporting that this may mark the end of
Eureka, but Mark Stern, Syfy's president of original content, reports that this is not necessarily so:
"Bruce Miller and Jaime Paglia [Eureka's co-creators] have brought a creative vitality to 'Eureka' that has kept it fresh and inventive. ... Although we do not have a commitment beyond six episodes for the sixth season, we are hopeful that this will not be the end of the franchise."
