The Librarians

Anyone watch the premiere of The Librarians? I never really watched the TNT movies of The Librarian starring Noah Wily but catching on to this new off shoot was pretty easy to do. This show is very Warehouse 13-ish if that helps to describe what it's like. Similar production level too.

I found it okay and will probably watch it if I chance across it again, but I doubt I'll go out of my way to find it on a regular basis.

It' on tomorrow night here, but I intend to give it a look at.
Seems like it will be in the same mould as W13/Eureka, so a bit of fun perhaps.

Ok . Watched the pilot . Not happy with the way they make the librarian guy have a Dr Who feel to him including the way he dresses . Thats just pure rippin off Dr Who costume wise .
The characters coming into play as the show progressed also seemed rushed or hap hazurd like we are supposed to be anamoured with them instantly without knowing anything about them .
Like shave mentioned , it has the Warehouse 13 feel to it or did for a while without the comedy . The characters are a jumble of (Alphas,Torchwood,Warehouse 13,Scorpion)and perhaps a few others . It's a real mishmash of already been used characters and probable scenerios .
I wont say to much more as I do not want to give up spoilers as there are a few more things that I find predictable about this show . Once a few more eps playout then maybe we can concur or disagree .
Not sure I wanna watch the next ep . Like shaved said , I'm not gonna go out of my way to watch it . It really is not grabbing me like Agents of Shield has and still does .

It's like the writers are trying too hard to make us instantly like, and relate to, all the characters. Even John Laroquette comes off as being forced. He's the stubborn, grumpy caretaker who will no doubt come to love all the people that he works with. It's rather cliche' if you ask me.

And someone needs to give Rebecca Romine fight choreography lessons because for being a super bad ass character she sucks at fisticuffs. (Granted, some of this is due to the bad directing and editing.)

I felt sorry for John Laroquette also . His show where he manages a bus station was friggin awesome a few years back . His character will be exactly as you say .

I rather like this show. It's like "Warehouse 13" with out the annoying juvenile antics of Pete, and the snotnosed punkette Claudia.

It has been picked up for a second season, too.

TNT has renewed its hit fantasy-adventure The Librarians. One of the hottest new shows on cable, The Librarians burst onto the scene with a chart-topping launch in December and went on to finish the year as basic cable's #2 new series of 2014, second only to TNT's The Last Ship. The show's success extends across TNT's multiple platforms, with each week's episode reaching an average of 11.4 million viewers through linear telecasts, DVR playback and VOD, digital and mobile viewing. TNT has ordered 10 episodes for the second season, which is slated to launch later this year.

Based on TNT's hit movie franchise, The Librarians centers on an ancient organization hidden beneath the Metropolitan Public Library dedicated to protecting an unknowing world from the secret, magical reality hidden all around. Rebecca Romijn (X-Men), Christian Kane (TNT's Leverage, Angel), Lindy Booth (Dawn of the Dead, The Philanthropist) and John Kim (Neighbors, The Pacific) star in the series as the newest protectors of the world's mystical treasures, with Emmy® winner John Larroquette (Night Court, Deception) as their reluctant caretaker. Noah Wyle (Falling Skies, ER) recurs as Flynn Carsen, the role he played in TNT's movie trilogy.

The Librarians is produced by Electric Entertainment, with executive producers Dean Devlin, John Rogers, Marc Roskin and Noah Wyle.

I have to say that I miss W13, yes Pete went overboard at times and Lena was around too long for no reason, but I would have preferred it over Librarians if forced to pick. I also have to hope FS goes kaput, if it does NW will surely be a larger part of Librarians and that would really be great for the show.

Really ? I only watched the first ep and could go no farther . Do you not find the characters rushed as if you are supposed to like them all right off the bat ? The Librarian is a rip off of Dr WHO at least in his garb ! No one can replace the Doctor :) :) :)

I prefer Warehouse 13 . Yes Pete was annoying sometimes but he was also pretty funny too . I never quite understood the addition of Claudia but I liked her rapour with Artie tho it could a bit annoying also sometimes .

Glad you like it though . There is not much to watch tv . I find myself binging on netflix shows , movies or docs as of late . Oh and Agent Carter . I really like the old cars and era .

FS has a 10 ep final season to go.

Actually I rather liked Warehouse 13 especially in its early years. It did go a bit off the rails in the final season and yes the character of Jinks literally served no purpose (waste of Aaron Ashmore) but the show was fun to watch and by and large executed the "dramedy" angle very well.

Falling Skies has run its course; they're doing one more half-season* and then ending it. I assume that's in production now.
So while the loss of Falling skies is sad, more screen time for Noah in The Librarians would be a good thing.
*I do not accept 13 episode runs as a "season". It's a half season. So while TNT claims the upcoming is their 5th and final, it's actually their 2 1/2 and final season.
