I hate the "Day After"! There are still teens popping off firecrackers and whistling fireworks tonight in my neighborhood, freaking out my cats (and neighbors). Fireworks are illegal ion Redondo Beach, but you can buy them in neighboring Torrance which makes that sorta moot. I just watched a car full of teens stop at the stop sign, get out of the car and place the whistler, light it and then drive slowly away just as it went off. Laughter, cheers....off into the night. Typically this will happen for two or three nights after the 4th. Annoying!

The 4th was a crazy night around here. Haven't seen that many personal fireworks in years. There were people on the blocks surrounding me that were shooting stuff off all night. The air was thick with acrid smoke from it all. It was a fun night but I, too, get tired of the "after shocks" the next day or two. Had some nimrod blowing off concussion fireworks yesterday, which was annoying in the extreme.
What really bugs me is that it seems like Summer just started yet here it is almost half over.

Yep, those concussion things...cherry bombs or M-80's or whatever they are called these days. My cats were freaking out big time. Every other hour or so...BOOM! Then, car alarms.
