New show
interesting premise

a guy-a Doctor-from the early 19th century, experiences death over and over and is constantly brought back to life.

modern NYC-meets a cop-he is an ME-who investigates a murder made to prove that he is an immortal

turns out it was done by another immortal-who we don't see-and he wants to "play a game"

def not sci fi-but I am giving it a few eps to see how it goes

No. That's what he assumed but it turned out not to be the case. The other "immortal" had nothing to do with the murder.

Ladies, please, let's not argue over a show that will be lucky to make it to four episodes. :P

The critics certainly aren't holding out much hope for it. The plot holes are apparently large enough that a Cadillac Escalade can be driven through them with room to spare.

The last time the immortal thing (New Amsterdam) was tried, it died fairly quickly.

Really the only time the immortal things was tried on TV and worked was way back with "Highlander the Series".

Ah..so you watched it? See the 2nd ep as a well? Guy says he has been around for thousands of years-and he still wants to "play"

See where it goes-might get interesting/might not

Kind of losing interest in this show--got to have more of the immortal stuff and not so much polpro drama

the only thing that keeps me watching (and on my DVR list) is Alana De La Wowza (Garza):shame:

a interesting looking actress in a seemingly endless see of TV blondes

I've been watching this too (skipped the s&m ep though :P ) its okay - better than the usual dreck but not on the level of OUAT as far as my interest level. It's interesting and i do enjoy Abe & Henry's interactions.
Seeing the younger man be the "father" to the older man is a bit of cognitive dissonance. They play that well. I did like the other immortal's relationship with Abe too. He had the records of Abe's parents because he too was in Auschwitz- being experimented on by mengele...no wonder he's psycho!

did you realize the detective was on law & order for a season or two as an ADA?

yes RAC, I do indeed.... she was on SVU reprising her lawyer role for one ep as a federal prosecutor

one can always enjoy the "scenery" of life even if we can never touch it :winking0052:

It took 2 eps and a visit to Imdb for me to figure it out! :P Snookie figured out that the dr. was in the fantastic four as mr fantastic/reed richards (2005)

Waiting for the obvious wordplay based on this show definitely NOT living "FOREVER".

No, I didn't watch it. It didn't interest me. The "immortal" angle was done (also badly) with NEW AMSTERDAM several years ago. When THAT show was cancelled after 13 episodes, it freed the lead up to play Jamie Lannister in GAME OF THRONES.

Win.

Well, I can judge Forever because I *did* watch it, and I thought it was pretty good. I wish they had given it at least a few more episodes to show Jo's reaction to the news, and also to find out Adam's eventual fate.

I also watched all eight (not thirteen) episodes of New Amsterdam, and liked it too.

I believe that "NEW AMSTERDAM" had a 13 episode order, but that order was eventually shortened by the writers' strike that year, since no one was producing scripts, instead walking a picket line.

Yep it was cancelled :crying-028: but I like the final episode- it tied up a few loose ends!
He had found out what happened to his last wife Abigail - Adam the other immortal watched her die- Abigail killed herself rather than be used against Henry. Adam was put into a vegetative state- so he can't kill Henry or the people around him. Jo and Henry were obviously going to begin a relationship - IF she can handle the truth about Henry. Very satisfying wrap up.
