Apple is the company which makes products for sheeple. Like any flock of sheep, you have the bleating masses following the herder wherever he goes, even if into the arms of disaster. And you have the sheep dogs, who help the herder (these would be the paid-for magazines and "journalists" who cheerlead for Apple and add to the marketing deception).
Yep, this is a rant. . Your iPhone, Mac or iPad or dumb Watch is made here:
This photo is of Foxconn which is Apple's sweatshop in China. Apple takes "Made in China" to a whole new level. Hard to believe that before Apple, people made fun of Walmart merchandise because it was "cheap garbage made in China". Guess what, Apple buyers!...your Apple product is no damned different. And every month or so, one of those iSweat workers at Apple's Foxconn in China commits suicide by jumping off the buildings. There are dormitories at the facility where these cattle live, and hey, they just snap and decide to jump off the roof. So, Apple, being the benevolent angel, has thoughtfully put up anti-suicide nets around the buildings:
I really hate Apple. I do own a Macbook Pro and I plan to buy an iPad 2, or 3 whichever it is when I decide to get it. I have the Mac and I will have the iPad because there are more sheep out there who are using Apple products than can safely be ignored in my line of work. Apple is the choice of salespeople, presenters, and CEOs in the enterprise, but 99% of the rest of the enterprise is using Windows on a laptop or their home computers. However in the BYOD scene, Apple iPhones account for 50% of personal smartphones or even a larger percentage (depending on the type of business). I would say that 90% or more IT professionals are using Androids, even though their bosses (and mine) uses an iPhone we have to support.
Having laid out the landscape, as it were, the main reason I hate Apple is because I cannot manage the devices on the network as I can most every other device. I can detect the MAC addresses, enable or blacklist a device on the wireless, manage partnerships with MS Exchange, and that's it. When it comes to securing files or applying domain policies, forget Apple because you cannot join the devices to the domain and you cannot enforce domain policies on a Mac from the domain controller. This means opening up file folders and resources in such a way that the Apple devices can access them without using Active Directory. .
I dont just hate Apple, I hate what it represents. I hate the way they market the products as being so cutting edge and geeky, when they make inferior products (under the skin) and they have outdated technology. They are the ultimate hipster, making claims that their way is the best way "just because". Next time you really hear a hipster tell you how using a typewriter is just so much better than a "cold" computer, you will understand. Next time you watch a hipster buy a vinyl record (whilst walking around the record store wearing headphones plugged into his iPhone), you will understand.
And the killing part is the actual Apple experience. Apples DO crash. They hang up, they lock up and freeze, and YES they can get malware in the browsers. That term "It just works" is a joke! If that were the case, there would be no waiting queues at the Genius Bar in EVERY Apple store. The people arent lining up to get cappucino.
Okay, I feel much better now. I can let my hands relax after banging this post out, and after I just set up three separate Macbooks to use a single AppleTV to use Airplay. One of the iSheep actually asked if all three could use it at the same time "like an overlay".
*sigh*
