first, international NF subscribers got discovery with their NF subscription, now you guys are getting this as an "amazon original"?

so, i have to pay for 2 subscriptions to see the show and you guys only pay once.

If you pay for a VPN service, you don't have to worry about geolocking. I already have Amazon Prime, and I dumped Netflix last year. So, that means Picard will be free for me. I havea 30-day freebie from Netflix going right now, but there is just nothing on there to make me want to subscribe again.

so if i pay for a vpn then i can use it?

so then, what is cheaper i wonder? the paid vpn that i would only use to watch the show or just adding on cbs to my amazon prime?

still though, the idea that the are making americans pay more for it by having us pay for two services (amz prime and then cbs add on in it) does not seem right

and the foreigners can afford it! aren't they supposed to have more disposable income in socialist nations anyhow? :)

The paid VPN is worth it. Besides getting around geolocking, you can watch all the free TV provided to the socialist countries in western Europe (the UK, the EU). You can watch all of the BBC channels, you can watch Space in Canada, and you can see content in Netflix that is blocked in the US but available in Europe. I pay $12.00 a month for Express VPN.

and just how much of this are you watching..comrade? :)

Enough to make it worth it. :) Besides that, the VPN hides your location if you go to "naughty" sites or download "special" content.

The Scimitar was blown up, but Data's parts could easily survive that if they were recovered. Even his memory core should be intact. They could easily use that to explain his current appearance.

BTW, I am feeling good about this series now. It is obvious that Kurtzman is no longer involved, and the new guy knows what he is doing...he is hitting all the HOPEFUL buttons by everything I have seen so far...

something about data downloading his memory before the explosion, then it being loaded into his 'brother' and then Data takes over that body from his brother..... then he is CPT of the enterprise

idk ,where the guy got it from, but he said it was ST canon a couple of times.

It is canon. But he just downloaded his memories to B4, not transfer them. The parts in that chamber look damaged. B4 was not damaged, just disassembled.

Yes. And the OBVIOUS setup was probably to "activate" B4 and voila, he would have Data's memories and experiences intact. But nothing rules out a future crew finding his positronic pieces in the debris. His android body was designed to withstand extreme conditions.

No. You have to see the movie. Data was beamed over to the Scimitar which was the ship attacking the Enterprise 1701-E. Captain Picard was trapped on that ship, and Data beamed over with an emergency transporter device but it was good for only one person. Data slapped it on Picard and activated it, leaving him on the Scimitar when it exploded. B4 gave a hint that Data's memories were inside him. The movie is worth watching. Watch it!

i have watched it, several times!

i am saying i don't remember what the guy in the video is saying

like how DATA's memory was put into his 'brother' and then he became CPT of enterprise

bit, another watch of the video reveals why-

its from a book! the book is canon. a websearch to memory alpha states the book was written to bridge the gap between nemesis and the first JJ movie. gives a backstory to Nero

i thought one didn't have to buy books to keep up with Trek? :)

Um, the book is canon according to whom? If it was some Bad Robot/Kurtzman backed book, then nobody in Star Trek fandom is going to consider it canon. This isn't Star Wars! :) Books do not "fill in the blanks" for anything in Star Trek, and neither do games or cartoons or anything else outside of series or movies. Real Star Trek canon ends at Nemesis with B4 not yet fully aware of Data's memories, and Captain Picard hearing him whistle. Anything you have read or seen since then is fake Trek and fake canon. Also, Memory Alpha is not an official authority. This is one of the big differences between Star Trek and Star Wars I have frequently mentioned. If you did not see it (as in a series or a movie), then it did not happen in canon.
