First official image of the new Doctor as she will appear in the show. In the teaser clip from earlier in the year it showed her in a dark hood and jacket. But that look has been gotten rid of and she is now styled like a reject from the set of Mork & Mindy. I don't know what the stylists were thinking. It's like they intentionally washed out any trace of femininity. She looks childish and slovenly. Good job stylists.

There are many reasons why this "Doctor" has caused a full scale fanbase revolt - this is one of them.

Sigh. Here we go. Another franchise being thrown down the gutter.

This is just to keep the SJW happy.

Yup. There is a controversy going on now for a while about SJWs having most of the positions of authority inside BBC, and Who is one of the shows they wanted control over. They got it and a LOT of the fans have basically said they're through with the show in its current incarnation,

Yes, exactly. Just looking at that pic of her makes me wonder where all her puppet friends are and what goofy songs are they going to sing today.

She is totally there. I don't think Doctor Who can really transfer to this actress successfully. Ghostbusters failed too.

It's no wonder Jeremy from the real Top Gear left. He must have had to deal with this PC bullshit shoved in his face because they found his comment offensive.

let me guess, she is a lesbian as well? or a trans, that would be more SJW worthy

    --------------
you know with this, and STD and SGU etc, etc, it is becoming pretty clear that the TPTB's or those that fund them are people who just never really got the original intentions of the original series/films

sometimes that is ok and turns out well, like the liberties SG1 took with the movie. adding the Goauld and other things

but now, stuff is being changed JUST FOR THE SAKE OF CHANGE and it is having a damning effect for these beloved shows

Who knows? Last season was garbage too - lots of SJW virtue signaling combined with poor writing.

But so did the male Doctors as they also dressed as clownish . Suspenders and all . Personally I love this actress but am really not happy with the outfit . I stopped watching it during Peter Capaldi .
A list of the doctors .
Tom Baker was my favourite but in actuality I liked them all ...Accept I am unfamiliar with Paul Mcgann ? I never saw him before ... How did I miss him ?
As you can see ,there all clowning it up a bit so with that in mind , I guess they wanted her to fit in better perhaps ?

I don't have a problem with them trying a female doctor but I'm not understanding the clownish clothes they have given her. The male doctors weren't that clownish looking. The accouterments of Smith, Tennant and Capaldi were subdued compared to this look. Even Baker with a scarf was fairly subdued; it was a cute affectation, not a clownish one. But this new look for the female doctor is intentionally bizarre. You're right in that it's definitely an attempt to make her "fit in better" but I think it really misses the mark.

Do you think the pants will bounce up and down when she runs ? My dad was an avid Irish Step dancer and made a pair of pants weighted down while wearing springy suspenders , the pant's would flop up and down when he jigged just about showing his green underwear whilst also being dressed up as a wee Leprechaun. I will try and find a pic . It was quiet hilarious to watch . What a card he was . I miss him . Oh and he could dance a ladies feet off . The guy was Fred Astair on the dance floor . He was still in his 70's wooing young ladies on the dance floor lol . Me ,,, 3 left feet , but I can do an awesome worm if asked ... You know . You lay on the floor and push your chest up fast forcing your body backwards then lowering your chest while you raise ur butt and keep wiggling down to your feet while going backwards and getting some sweet air with your body at the same time . It was fun to do ...
Here is a pic of my Dad on St Patty's day .

the most memorable of the old timers for me was tom baker. i remember my dad- NOT A sci fi fan!--watching dr who on tv in the 70's. it must have been either on the local PBS station or a local UHF one. i remember the guy and his scarf :)

I don't have a problem with a female Doctor either. But this one looks intentionally crafted to look "gender neutral" dictated by an agenda.

She strikes me as being more "male" than "gender neutral". The pants, suspenders and combat boots all scream "male" to me. While I'm not against women wearing mens clothing I don't see why they couldn't have made her more feminine. It's like they want to downplay the fact that the Doctor now has a vagina. (I'm not seeing much in the way of "sweater meat" either to be honest. That poor girl has got the chest of a 12yo boy. What's up with that?) Why even make the Doctor female if all they are going to do is de-emphasize that fact? That's just dumb.

I stopped watching this show after half way through Matt smith's was on the show. I felt David tennant was the best from this rebooted series.

What if there is a reveal that she is "transgender". Wouldn't that be like...so cool? :chargrined:

Well "trans" is apropos in this instance as the Doctor has crossed from one gender to the other. I don't have my Latin dictionary in front of me so I'll have to rely on Google but the definition of trans is "across, beyond, through". The difference here is how will the Doctor adjust to the new gender after always being male? Will the new Doctor view the universe through a "male lens" so to speak?

At any rate, I won't mind if they take a moment to have the Doctor adjust mentally to being female, but I hope they don't constantly reference male traits. That would be low-brow and tedious after awhile.

BTW, is the Doctor going to have a bevy of male companions now? It's only fair considering when the Doc was male he flitted about the universe with tons of young, hot women that were his pseudo concubines.
