First trailer!!!!

well, not really

but it is a good job the way the person edited the scenes from diff films together

A kenobi film --or tv show--would be on tattoine (that is where he went after all) and we would have about 18yrs worth of stories

Incidentally, MacGregor will not confirm or deny any plans for his role in any Kenobi project

So they are going to reboot all the SW characters too in younger versions? When does Young Yoda, teen Lando and Sweet Sixteen Leia come out? :)

Sweet Sixteen Leia

she was already in REBELS for one episode :)

Lando and Yoda are kind of boring imo
-----------------------------

why do you keep calling them reboots? they are continuations of the same story, not do-overs. the timeline of their making and release is irrelevant-only the setting of the story and the story told

the Kenobi film (the real one if made) would cover a time period we all already know is un-told; the time between eps 3 and 4

It's a reboot if you change somebody's past.

For instance, Christopher Columbus was actually an entrepreneur, not an explorer. Revisionism made him an explorer and the discoverer of America, when that is actually a complete fabrication. Going back and calling slaves "workers" changes who they are today. Going back and making Han Solo or Leia someone different can affect the perceptions of who they are in the OT.

they are not changing the past though

the original trilogy for example, only gave us an acct of few weeks in the lives of the major characters

these stories continue the story overall that has yet to be told

They have to be very careful not to do anything at all in their telling of the past that would contradict anything at all we know about the character's present however.

We have already seen the young Kenobi in the prequels. Why Obi Wan? BORING. :( I want to see a young Lando Calrissian or a young Chewbacca or even a young(er) Yoda. With Yoda, they can go back in the SW universe several centuries to a time when there was Sith and Jedi ruling the galaxy and not any Republic or Empire.

Well all of that material on those characters and more, is just sitting in the EU/ SW's legends that DISNEY owns

and THEY HAVE been drawing from those already with the new movies and with REBELS

-----------
they could make their tv show like that; one ep about Yoda, at whatever point in time, one about Calrissian, one about a pre-Chancellor Palpatine, etc, etc

it could be multi stories in one series with every episode on its own or only ties to the ep that had that character in it before

One thing to note is that since the Disney purchase of Lucasfilm they are very pointedly ignoring the prequels. REBELS references them the absolute minimum amount necessary to propel the story, TFA totally disregarded them and so on.

They seem to be following a construct (despite their saying that the canon is the seven movies, Clone Wars and Rebels) of using the Original Trilogy, Clone Wars and selected EU elements as their story basis.

As to a rumored Obi Wan film, I have my doubts this is in the offing. They wanted a Han Solo film mostly because the total lack of any material on the character prior to Star Wars gives writers a pretty open slate and of course the nature of the character lets them do a riff on Firefly. An Obi Wan film does not have the same freedom for writers.
