i watched the first ep. in it, one charachter-a early teen-thinks his brother is gay. they go over to a neighbor girls house on the pretense of "homework". while sitting around the dining room table studying-the brother convinces the girl to go under the table a suck on his bro's wee-wee. with her mom just right behind them in the kitchen.
the actors playing the kids were kids-no young looking 18 yr olds playing a younger age. i do not know how the producers get around kiddie porn charges?
something about this type of exploitation gets to me-it is very unnecessary and over the top
it seems to me that most american tptb have no clue to the art of entendre and implication-their lack of imagination just leads to needless displays of pointless sex/violence,etc

I watch the show and really enjoy it.
As for "kiddie porn", as long as the actor is at least 18, they should be fine.
The kid who plays Ian will be 20 this year.
The kid who plays Lip turned 22 this year.
Believe me when I say that they tend to hire actors who look younger than their actual age. They find it easier than having to work with the child welfare rules.

then why not have them play their actual age instead of pumping "simulated kiddie porn" over the air waves (cable or no)

like the people who say cougar town is good--caught a part of one episode by accident on abc. Saw a forty something performing simulated oral on her son's teenage friend

That's the show and it doesn't bother me.
You can't pretend that this kind of thing doesn't happen (to one degree or another), and it would make some aspects of the show impossible to write.
It's based on the UK version. Check out that one, if you want to see seriously wild crap.
I dont know....perhaps when I see the real life versions of these types of people I avoid them/cringe at the sight of their behaviors, etc. So, why suddenly show interest in them when watching TV? If I see a Honey Boo Boo type little girl stuffing her face with cheez puffs and a mom like she has, waddling their way down the aisles in Walmart, I might throw up in my mouth a little bit...so why TUNE IN to them on TV?

At least on Jerry Springer, we had one moderator from "not the nasty life" (Jerry himself). We had an audience who could ask questions. This show just shows us what is happening. Who to identify with?
