With the recent passing of longtime BBC star Elisabeth Sladen, the fate of her show, The Sarah Jane Adventures, had been called into question. It was almost impossible to imagine the program continuing without its title character, especially considering she's has been kicking around since 1973.
There were rumors, though, stirrings that the show might go on. But how? Would the children carry on without Sarah Jane? Would someone new step into the part? For any fan, young or old, the notion seems almost unfathomable.
The BBC, it seems, agrees—albeit with one important caveat. Here's the official press release:
