QUANTUM COMPUTING

Here is a short video from Vice news on the state of Quantum Computing today.

I know basically nothing, but I found the dwave info interesting as well as the Chinese quantum satellite-now up and running



and then, the other day, this was released, google announces 'quantum supremacy'

but do we really need this?

sure it would be great for developing tech and info we do not have now, but what practical aspects of everyday life can QC make better?

will it cure cancer? end poverty(actually it would probably increase unemployment)? end war?

should we get better at using what we already have before we develop even faster ways to detract from real human and natural interaction, infiltrate other nation's security, or be a 'internet tough guy' on some QC power social media?
