Lin is doing the typical celebrity thing of opening his mouth without doing his homework.

Lin has gone on record claiming that "Star Trek belongs to everyone!" He defended Alec Peters on Twitter. That pretty much guarantees that he will not be doing any more Star Trek films!

That episode is what got Mark Lenard his Sarek character. In the Balance of Terror episode, that was not Sarek (you know that already). It was the first time a Romulan was shown in the series.

Of course I know it's not Sarek.

It's funny seeing actors being recycled for multiple characters in a series.
