This guy has been making videos since before youtube was started.

He taught guys like Bald and BAnkrupt and Irish Partizan and some others his style of doing videos of other places and avoiding typical tourist destinations and to do anything but typical tourist activities

a few of the many videos-- biking across Zanzibar-others

he also does a lot of cash giveaways using money raised from his YT earnings and patreon donations-- $1000 cups of tea in Sri Lanka, $100 haircuts in India

since covid, harald has been doing his best to avoid locked down areas and still make content.. he got stuck i Sri Lanka for about 2 months when that country shut down.. he has some great videos from then too

since Sri Lanka he has been doing his damnedest to stay away from covid! each time he seems to be going more and more 'tribal'

now he is in rural Tanzania with Masai herdsmen.. nearly going all "Col Kurtz- heart of darkness" on us :)

well, that depends, but i would say in most cases, it would be Bald and Bankrupt

he sometimes pops in on Harald in remote areas after doing a bit of international stalking ad "patrol boating upriver" searching for HARALD

this was a great bit... the two were worried a posh Hotel security had called terror police on them after they swam across a lagoon to get into the Hotel and 'crash it' after the could get reservations

probably not the smartest thing to do in India given recent attacks that came from the sea

the video of "Indias best getaway driver" its pretty funny, well, imo at least

No edited thumbnails, no clickbait, no music, no filters, no begging for subscribers, no self-centered filming, no fake emotions... This is pretty much as real as it gets. Harald overclassed himself with the Tanzania series. I love it!!!

couple more great vids from tanzania

first one shows how there is a big demand for small business to charge cell phones, laptops and power packs.. Also how in many ways, African nations are far ahead much of the rest of the world in doing so many everyday transaction by cell ph

one of harald's famous "pay for service/ over paid donations".. he had some issues with storage and lost some footage but he mentioned how happy the women were to get these donations for them washing his t-shirts

Turns out the white woman (nice.. isn't it? to have a place online where we can still say "white woman" or "black man"?) in the videos is Emilie Chase a US cit from alaska who has been travelling doing volunteer work

she has settled in this maasai village and is helping them organize and buy equipment to set up a village "industry" to make them more self sufficient

this is the first gofund me or other fundraiser harald has energized. he helped raise a lot of money for a childrens hospital in nepal.. and who knows how much in individual donations by him.. like paying$100 in india for a $1.50 haircut. or $500 for a cup of teas at a roadside cafe hut in sri lanka

anyhow, i gave them $45

He has been a bit slow since Tanzania, but he is back, in Nepal

doing a solo trek up a Himalayan valley in the 'off season'

it is amazing the amount of "stuff" these people- all ethnic Tibetans- have up in these valleys. the amount of effort that the Nepalese govt put into string electric cable and putting up cell service deep up into them as well also impressive. Shows just how important these many valleys re to the nations economy

and he is still up there; editing and posting videos at every "rest inn" along the way

i sent him a msg on instagram I wanted Yeti pics.. he said he'd work on that for me :)

so he made it to the top, but lost power and batt life on his way down and bad weather

went back to Kathmandu and took a helo ride back to top to walk back down and record the trip and spend more time with the ppl on the way

funny too, as he meets several other trekkers and they al say they came because they saw his videos last month--- the way one semi popular guy on YT can impact the economy of this small valley

how the internet works for good when it does
