I'm not a comic book geek but if I was I'd probably be into Deadpool. From what I understand the character is morally ambiguous and complicated, which could be rather interesting to examine. Plus he's supposed to be snarky and funny.
At any rate, a Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds (he of the lousy Green Lantern flick) has gotten the green light from Fox. It will be released in February of 2016.

Deadpool hits theaters in February 2016. Here's the official synopsis: "Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life."
