No Sean Young? Not to mention there is no story to continue here - the original film did not exactly have a deep or fleshed out universe so where would you take this one?

Considering the end of the original, a continuance would be a romance between Decker and Rachel up north away from the cities. That is not sounding like a good jump off point to me. :(

perhaps it will go with it now being a "fact" that Decker is a 'bot and take it from there?

There are still lots of people who don't get the ending and don't see Decker is a replicant. :) I believe Ridley Scott put that to rest didn't he?

One can only assume that Decker goes on to have lots more wacky adventures. How else are they to milk the corpse?

Maybe that is literally what they have him do.....milk corpses.

I know it's cynical to say this, but my cynicism is deserved -- Hollywood will pointlessly continue the story despite no continuation being necessary (or possible as I would argue). It's all about the money. Integrity to the story be damned.

We have to find out who made Decker. It was probably not Tyrell. Maybe Tyrell stole the technology for Rachel from somebody else we have not seen? Won't Decker now side with the replicants since he knows he is one of them? There could be some dramatic tension regaring whose side to take in a sequel, since technically the humans are the good guys and the replicants are foreign. Meh, they could work it if they try hard enough. Might be interesting.

What about the shipping? It ain't a movie worth watching if it's not loaded with shipping! Oh, and teen angst so gotta have Jared Leto and Megan Fox playing teen-bots filled with angst.

They could even reboot the thing (bad move). There seems to be this pervasive "product" mentality, with movies being referred to as "properties". Blade Runner is only a label to them, not a work of art (which it was). You cant remake it.

Wars have been started over far more benign words.

Seeing as there's really nowhere to go from the original movie storywise reboot is really the only way to go - aside from doing the right thing and just letting Blade Runner rest.

So just to be clear, Decker is a replicant? I don't remember that being made clear in the movie. Was it even hinted at? :daniel_new004:

It was made clear by the origami unicorn in the scene with Graff, even though it was not explicit. Watch it again. :) The easiest proof is the author himself: Ridley Scott. Scott says that Decker IS a replicant:

    http://comicbook.com/2014/12/18/ridley-scott-answers-whether-deckard-is-a-replicant-in-blade-run/

Here it is from his own lips (must watch whole clip)

He did although Harrison Ford contradicts that when he said that he and Scott had discussions about Deckard and had both agreed he was human. Later on, Scott says he was actually a replicant.

Apparently, the ending of the original script had Deckard realizing he was a replicant at the end of the movie but that wasn't the ending they shot.
