Adam West was "my" Batman for much of my childhood. Him, Robin, my Catwoman (Julie Newmar), I never imagined another Batman than him, but that was from a simpler, less stressful time. He was fun, funny and brought Batman into life directly from the comics for millions. He will be missed.

I think he was everyone who grew up with batman, definitely mine too despite being cringeworthy and cheesy and sometimes laughable. I had a soft spot for this type of batman.

My city projected the Bat signal on City Hall on Friday in honor of Adam West:

The guy is just a guy in costume, but the Bat signal is in the background. You could see it from miles away.

he was a very under-appreciated actor...he played a very chilling serial killer on an old episode of The Big Valley.... saw that after I saw him play Batman as a kid. creeped me out!
