I really do love it, I think it's fantastic; hopefully it will be available mainstream, within my lifetime... preferably within 20 years or so.

I agree. THAT is the technology being developed for the military here in the US which means it will get far more R&D money and will be better developed in the end. The smartglass is very elegant and looks all "future-tech" and such, but in real practice I dont see it being put in wide usage. I dont see any home or military use for it at all.
