Meh. Started with mediocre action and ended with a dead red shirt (some dude we don't know but supposedly has been with the gang a while between seasons).

The Walking Dead has become a phenomena. It has become the most watched show on television, and we here at GateFans just cannot figure out why! Some of the things that go on in this show are just too silly to suspend belief for. But the show is in it's 4th season, and going strong. Still, it feels more sane to be able to see the silliness in the show. The latest nutty element is Dr Mullet. AKA Dr. Eugene Porter. This new character is...

I missed all of season 3. Stopped just before Lori was killed and have not seen another episode. Funny how we only get a choice between simple dreck and pureed dog shit. The Wanking Dud to Defiance. But then there is some okay good stuff like Continuum and Under the Dome and yes, The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Of course this is only speaking of sci fi. :)

I got that earlier...:) But what is it you hate about it the most? I look at Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis and Sanctuary, and Im still seeing better storytelling even though it is a bit hokey. Warehouse 13 anyone? I am getting that this is a love it or hate it show.

The hokey part. I didn't like Warehouse 13. Maybe if I watch it a little longer it might grow on me.

One would expect the season opener would be more of a bang. See how the show will progress, but, looks to be the walking dull again.

Lousy opening. The first thing I thought of was that they should simply set the walkers at the fence on fire. Why they haven't thought of this after 7+ months is beyond me (the new show runner said the time line was 7+ months later). And the symbolism of the gun buried in the yard was dumb. Like we're supposed to think that's all deep and shit cuz it portends bad stuff happening.

Then there was the scene with the geek kid shaking Daryl's hand, which was just god awful writing. Seriously, that had to be a first draft that they shot because it was such a clunky scene. Terrible, just terrible.

Then they're back at the fence spiking walkers en masse. Again, just toss some accelerant on them and ignite it. Easy peasy. But no, they have to exhaust themselves by physically spiking every walker's head (and getting covered in blood and guts in the process).

Then the storyline with Rick and that crazy woman was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring! It was obvious what was going to happen. And no, I don't give a hard turd about Rick's "soul" or his psychological state. That whole story line was just a lot of masturbating jibberish intended to be deep but succeeding in just being lame.

And the helicopter on the roof gimmick was simply a "INSERT MINDLESS ACTION SEQUENCE HERE" thing. It was a bone they threw to the masturbating fanboys and was so full of holes that I was bored with it before it even happened. I mean really, we're to believe this crashed Chinook heli held all those people that were on the roof? How did they get up there? And how did they get out of the heli since the doors weren't popped plus:rolleyes:

The only good part was having the nerd die and turn into a zed at the end. Now we're left to wonder if it was from swine flu or tainted crops or tainted meat (pig and deer) and remember when Daryl licked his fingers before shaking hands with the kid? But most likely it's in the water supply since they referenced it throughout the episode. The writers think they're being uber clever by dropping all these red herrings into the mix.

Oh yeah, and what's with Michonne wasting time looking for the governor? (He's probably hiding in the prison anyway) In a world where you're struggling to survive on a daily basis I don't think anyone would waste time on a revenge hunt.

No one mentioned red shirt's blonde girlfriend who seems devoid of emotion. Serial killer maybe?

They showed a clip for next week on Talking Dead that shows someone feeding a rat (rats?) to a walker (walkers?) at the fence, ostensibly feeding them, which would, stupidly, explain why they've increased showing up there.

I saw that in the big new season trailer they've been playing all week.

It's stupid no matter how you slice it. If it's someone in the group then how did they get out to the prison yard in the middle of the night? Do they not set up any safety protocols when they sleep? People can come and go, in and out, without any hassle? No one hears anything? No one hears the doors being opened and the gate being opened (there are two fences)??? Yeah, real safe place to sleep.

Wtf? lol...another terrible start. It felt like more of the same old season 3. This episode had its moments but I wasn't even interested anymore in this episode. Though, the zombies were better actors.

I'm sure rat man is the Governor. It's his plan to cause the prison to collapse.....yawn.

You know, you guys are so cynical. They actually tried something new this season. We finally have "red shirts" they can kill off in stupid ways.

I MUCH rather would have had the show change its focus now. We've had them running from the walkers long enough. Instead how about the season being about the humans (including Rick's group) actually driving the zeds completely out of the area around the prison, or finding more people and everyone moves to a valley and clears it. In other words, they start FIGHTING BACK against the world and building something instead of the cynical, soap opera drama.

It could very well be one/some of the kids who 'name' the walkers? Anyway, 2 years in by their timeline, someone is still teaching/preaching the zom's are sick people? Then the "bleeding eyes walker" at the fence rick saw, this the mystery illness?
