I don't know. The Wachowski "brothers" have an uneven track record to put it lightly. The Matrix was good but the sequels were horrid. They also did a pretty slick movie named Assassins but then were responsible for the train wreck known as V for Vendetta - you know its really bad when the author of the source material gets his name removed from the movie because they altered the plot and turned his intented point on its head.

Guess the trailers haven't been posted:

Looks like a visual CGI fest but story seems a little lame.

IM GONNA SEE IT. Not because of the story or much of anything except the eye candy. But I aint payin for it. The ships look cool, the effects are way over the top overdone, and that will be just fine if that is all I am expecting going in. :)

While I don't think V for Vendetta was a train wreck I do think that it could have been much better. I didn't know there were issues with the original writer as JL mentioned, but it does make sense now that I think about it. The movie is definitely flawed despite having a good premise.

Full disclosure: I'm not a Natalie Portman fan. I think the Star Wars prequels highlight her acting abilities to a T, which is to say, those movies expose her for being wooden and laughably bad as a thespian. I haven't noticed any improvement in her acting chops in the other movies that she's done, including V for Vendetta. Naturally Hollywood disagrees with me as proven by the fact that Miss Portman now has an Oscar to her name, go figure.

Maybe her Oscar is made of wood too - to reflect her "acting" skills.

Saw a trailer today-the only female actor of note that I noticed was Mila Kunis

Sean Bean is in it as well-wonder if he makes it to the end of this movie without getting killed! I do not think I have seen one movie where his character is NOT killed off.

Usually studios bump films to that time period when they know they have a dog on their hands....

And......it is a dog both at the boxoffice and critically......

At its current boxoffice pace it will lose at least $100 million dollars, and the funniest point in the reviews is it is being compared UNFAVORABLY to of all movies BATTLEFIELD EARTH.

Of course, when your lead "actress" is Mila Kunis (who to me is in the Megan Fox category of acting skill) and she is opposite the deadly dull Channing Tatum what do you expect? It's actually funny that they originally tried to get Natalie Portman for this film as she is nearly as awful an actress as Kunis is.
